At the annual PSG Gathering in Jan, PSG
executive committee together with the school
and Family Matters @ School addressed
Secondary One parents on various topics such
as PSG membership, school facilities and the
upcoming workshops.
During the gathering, parents and their
children participated in the colouring
contest. There was teamwork and the
art pieces were eye-catching.

This is our way of welcoming in the year of the Horse!
Chinese New Year
CNY celebration has been an annual tradition at OPSS.
Every year, all the PSG executive committee and
members look forward to celebrating the event with the
teachers. The Loi Hei was halal and even our Muslim
parents enjoyed it.

Parents Support Group Conference 2014
Points which were raised during the conference.
This was the first ever PSG Conference and it was held
on the 12th of April 2014 at the Suntec Singapore
Convention & Exhibition Centre. Over 450
representatives from various schools across the island
attended the event. The conference celebrated PSG’s
good practices and also served as a platform for parents
to learn from one another.

Parents volunteer in schools as they want to play an active role in their child’s education. PSG represents
parents’ voices and we provide constructive feedback to school to provide a holistic education. More than
95% of the schools today have PSG as compared to 17% about 20 years ago. This year’s event was held in
conjunction with MOE’s ExCEL Fest 2014.

OPUS Orchid Park Wind Orchestra

OPUS
OPUS was held at the Republic Cultural
Theatre at the Republic Polytechnic on
the 7th of June 2014. The PSG executive
commitee and other parents were
invited to the program. The event was
organized by Madam Norlita and the
orchestra was led by Mr. Julian Low who
is an accomplished musician and
acclaimed conductor. It was truly a night
to remember!

total of 41 participants.
