We strongly believe that the students of our institution are
destined to become leaders and responsible citizens.
As another academic year arrives and another page in the
history of our school is turned, we reached the 7 th milestone. It is
with immense satisfaction that we look back on the achievements
of the past year. Tiaano Vidyashrm is a bee hive of activity
which provides shoulder for the students to shape their effort,
thought and dreams.
We are proud to present a glimpse of events happened in
Tiaano Vidyashrm during the academic year 2018-2019.

Tips For Success
A Power Point presentation and an interactive session was organized on the topic “Tips for Success” on 6th April 2018 by Mr.Arputhanesan.
Teacher’s workshop
On 6th June 2018 a workshop was organized by Dr.Narendra Nayak, Professor- Biochemistry dept., Manipal Medical College, followed by PPT.
International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day was celebrated in our school on 21st June 2018. Our students have demonstrated few asana and also delivered a speech on the positive aspects of yoga.

Investiture Ceremony
Investiture ceremony was held on 20th June 2018. Divya Shri of Grade VIII was selected as SPL, Tamilarasu of Grade VIII was selected as ASPL, Iniyan of Grade IX was selected as Sports Secretary and all the four house captains and vice captains were honored with badges.
Orientation Programme
Orientation Programme was conducted by Mr. Shridhar Ganapathy for teachers on 18th July 2018 followed by video presentation on Patriotism, National integration and corruption.
Marathon
Our students participated in Mini Marathon- “Save Earth- Go Green” on 21st July 2018 organized by Maharishi Vidya Mandir Sr Sec School, Chengalpattu and Gokulam Chit Finance.
Visit to Old Age Home, Little Drops
Our students visited the Little drops Old Age Home on 24th July 2018 and conducted events like puppet show, kalaam kalaam song and speech on kamarajar and later the chairman of Little Drops visited our school on 1st August 2018 and addressed the students on the importance of charity.
KG - Family Day
Family Day was organized for our KG students on 26th July 2018. Children were taught family values and importance of give and take in the family.

Parent Orientation Programme
Orientation Programme was conducted by Mr.Dhandapani (JNEET) on 28th July 2018 on the topic “Nutritional food to be given to children” and “Tips on Parenting”.
CCA Activities
As a part of CCA various competitions were held for our students. • Drawing on 18th August • Singing on 5th September • Speech on 15th October • Greeting Card making on 2nd November
• Poem recitation on 14th December • Thirukkural recitation on 22nd January
KG - My Country
The monthly celebration of KG was organized on 28th August 2018 on the topic “My Country”. Children were dressed up like our Leaders and special talks marked the occasion.

Independence Day
72nd Independence Day programme was celebrated on 15th August 2018. Ms.S.Vijayalakshmi, In charge of Lil’ drops old age home, Mr. S.Mahalingam Proprietor, Smart Furniture and Mr.J.Selvaraj Proprietor, JSP Gardens were the chief guests. As a part of curriculum to gain knowledge about various professions, our students visited the work spot of the above guests.
Krishna Jayanthi
Krishna Jayanthi was celebrated in our school by our students on 31st August 2018. UKG children were dressed up as Radha and Krishna. Special talk on Krishna jeyanthi was delivered by our students.
Teachers Day
Teacher’s day was celebrated in our school on 5th September 2018. Ms.P.E.Nancy our Secretary and Mr. Shridhar Ganapathy our advisor addressed the teachers and honored them with gifts.

KG – Eat Healthy
Eat Healthy Programme was organized for our KG students on 20th September 2018. Dr.Subitha MBBS, Senior Asst. Prof. – Pathology, MMC, was the Chief Guest. She advised the children to eat healthy foods and avoid all the junk foods.
Vinayagar Chathurthi
Vinayagar Chathurthi was celebrated in our school on 12th September 2018. Students prepared models of Vinayaga with clay, and celebrated the occasion.
Avoid Plastics
Special talk by Mr. Shridhar Ganapathy on the topic “Avoid Plastics” was delivered in the assembly on 4th October 2018. Students and staffs were given awareness about the evil effects of using plastics. The school was also announced to be “Green School” - A School which is away from plastic pollution.
Chennai Invitational Athletic Championship 2018
Chennai Invitational Athletic Championship organized sports events in our campus on 6th October 2018. Dr.Duraisamy, asst.prof of Tamilnadu sports University and Mr.Rajendra Prasad, Physical Director of NPS International School were the chief guests. About 550 participants from various schools participated in this event and our school students won the “Overall Championship”.

Blossom Day
Tree Plantation Day, Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam’s Birthday and Grand Parent’s Day were celebrated as Blossom Day on 15th October 2018. Students of grade III to V, VIII and IX went for a rally on “Swacch Bharat & Ban on Plastics”. Students of grade VIII and IX visited the “Gypsy Community” in Karasangal. Students of grade VI and VII visited “New Life” Old Age Home mathur near Oragadam.
Dusshera
On the event of Dusshera ‘golu padi’ was displayed in our school on 18th October 2018. Special talks during the assembly explained the importance of the festival.

Dengue Awareness
A special talk was delivered by Mrs. Aashitha Mary (teacher, science dept.) about dengue awareness on 25th October 2018. Students went on a rally to give awareness to the public. They chanted slogans to fight against Dengue.
Vigilance Awareness Week
To mark the birth anniversary of Dr.Sardar Valla Bhai Patel, a variety of awareness programmes were conducted from 25th October to 2nd November within the school premises.

• A special talk was delivered by Mrs. Sreedevi (teacher- Tamil dept.) on “Corruption” and a song was composed and sung by our students.
• Essay writing competition was conducted by UCO bank, Tambaram branch, on the topic “Eradicate Corruption, Build a New Nation”.
Pradharshan – A Science Exhibition
A Science exhibition was organized on 3rd November 2018. Students displayed various working models, charts and live demonstration, which was appreciated by one and all. Dr.Prasanna, HOD of Physics, Madras Christian College was the chief guest.

Karate
Goju-Ryu Uchiage-Kai Karate-Do-India organized the belt giving ceremony of orange belt and Yellow Belt for our students on 8th November 2018.
Children’s Day
Children’s day was celebrated at the school campus on 14th November 2018. Videos were shown to the children and they had fun and entertainment.
KG – Birds day
Our KG students celebrated the “Birds Day” on 26th November 2018. Speech, Rhymes, songs and dance performances were given by the children.

School Super League
Times of India organized School Super League in the month of November. Many of our students participated in the programme Mahathi Shree of Grade IV, Tejas Kumaran of Grade V, Rishabbh of Grade VI, Neha Nirmal of Grade VII, D. Santhosh of Grade VIII and Rohan Roy of Grade IX won prizes in Math’s & Science. Overall toppers were Rishabbh of Grade VI and D. Santhosh of Grade VIII. They were awarded with a tab.
Baasha Sangam
As per the ministry of Human Resource Development- department of School Education & Literacy, the programme “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” initiated to celebrate the spirit of National Integration. Students learnt 22 official languages. Every day a new language was introduced to the students and they learnt to speak five simple sentences. This was started on 26th November and concluded on 21st December 2018.

Karate Championship
All India Invitational Open Karate Championship-2018 (Individual / kata/kumite / team kata – boys & girls – 9 years category) was organized by Okinawan Goju – Ryu karate – Do – Kyokai India and was held at JJ Basketball Indoor Stadium, Chennai on 2nd December, 2018. Many of our school students participated and V. Tejas Kumaran of Grade V and S. Kiran of Grade III won the third positions.
Workshop
A workshop – “Sight Ambassador”, school vision screening programme was conducted on 30th November 2018. It was organized by Nectar Academy (Nirmal’s Eye Hospital, a unit of Nirmal’s health care pvt.ltd). This was attended by our teachers Ms. Gayathri, Ms. Aashitha Mary, Ms. Janaki and Ms. Sangeetha.
Camp Fire & Trekking (Experiential Learning Programme)
An Experiential Learning programme was organized in our school campus on 7th December, 2018. Students of Department of Social Work from Madras Christian College, Tambaram conducted various games for our students and also delivered motivational speeches. Late in the night, a camp fire was arranged, which was greatly enjoyed by the students. The night stay at school by the students was a new experience which was very much appreciated by the parents. The following morning students went on a trekking to the nearby Pushpagiri hill.
Parent Orientation
Parents Orientation programme was held on 8th December, 2018. The Resource Person was Ms. Jemimma. She spoke on the topic, “Effective Parenting”. The parents

had various questions cleared by her and also requested for many more sessions in the near future.
KG – Colors Day
To create an awareness about the basic colors, Red Blue Yellow and Green was celebrated by the KG students.
Workshop
A two days’ workshop was organized by Aringnar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur, Chennai. Miduna Varshini of Grade V-A was awarded with a Certificate of “Zoo Ambassador” and with a zoo passport (free visit-10 times).
Christmas
Christmas was celebrated in our school on 21st December 2018. Students performed Skit, dance, and Christmas carols, depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
Fire Drill
A power point presentation and live demonstration on fire drill was conducted by the authorities from “Airport Authority of India”, Chennai on 10th January, 2019. Mr. R. Srinivasan – Manager, Mr. K.P. Vinayagamoorthi – Asst. Manager, Mr. Jai Singh – Sr. Superintendent, Mr. Prabhakaran-Asst., Mr. R. Prashanth – Asst., and Mr. Rajaji – Assistant demonstrated about the usage of fire extinguisher and how to put out oil fires. Students learnt the rescue measures to be taken during a fire accident.
Pongal
Pongal was celebrated in our school on 11th January 2018 with great and show. Students performed dances and skit. Traditional games like snake and ladder, kabadi, etc., were played by students and the staffs. Sweet pongal was distributed to all the students.

KG – Community Helpers
A fancy dress Programme was organized for the KG children on the topic “Community Helpers”. Students were dressed up as Doctors, Farmers, Scientists, Soldiers, Teachers etc. it was enjoyed by one and all and also the concept of different professions was understood by the kids.
Republic Day
The 70th Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January 2018. The chief guest of the day was Mr.Prakash, proprietor Prakash Institute and DAV teacher. Students presented speeches and patriotic songs. The motivational speech by the chief guest was greatly appreciated.

Chess Competition
In the chess tournament organized by “Dr. Gift Sironmoney Chess Club”, Madras Christian College on 13th February 2019. 7 students participated in the same and won the participation certificates and medals.
Drawing Competition
In the drawing competition held by ‘OSHO Communications’ in the academic year 2018-2019. 250 Students participated in the event and got certificates.
“Shanoviyam Institute of fine Arts” organized District level Art competition-2019 in the topic “Color Wings” on 3rd February 2019. D.Subasree of IA has been awarded for excellence in district level.
Sports Day
The 6th Annual sports day ‘Olympia’ was held on 16th February 2019. The Chief Guest of the day was Dr.George Abraham, Principal of YMCA, Chennai and the Guest of Honour was Dr.Mohanakrishnan, Physical Director, SRM University. Children displayed their talents through various drills and aerobics.

Field Trip
The students of standard VIII and IX visited the Harbour.
The students of standard VI to VII visited the Museum.
The students of standard III to V visited the Mahabalipuram.
The students of I and II visited the Egmore Museum.

The students of LKG and UKG visited Vandalur Zoo.
The students of PRE KG visited ALSA Gardens, Pushpagiri.

Turtle Walk – Wildlife Conservation
In order to create an awareness about the protection of decaying species of RIDLEY Turtles. Students were taken to the neelankarai beach on 27th February 2019 to collect the eggs and deposit in the hatcheries. Students enjoyed the long walk and also it was an eye opener to them, that wildlife should be protected not destroyed.
