We asked him a few questions so we can get to know him beer. What was one of your greatest successes? Twice achieving All-American Status while competing for the Track and Cross Country teams at Lindenwood University. I finished 5th in the Race Walk and 2nd in the Marathon. Finish this sentence. “On a day off I…” Like to spend time with my 2 boys, Runner(8) and Dash(2). I will frequently take them on runs with me around the area. Our favorite spot is Creve Coeur Park. What is something people would be surprised to hear about you? I am a Lego artist. When I have some spare time I enjoy creating mosaics out of Lego. On May 16th North County Incorporated is hosting our 37th Annual Breakfast Awards. We are excited to honor many of North Counties finest. We have a lot of exciting things coming up in the next several months at the chamber. We’ve just finished receiving applications from local high school students for our Education Foundation scholar- ships. We’ll be reviewing all the submissions and announcing our winners at the May Luncheon. So plan on aending, it’s always fun meeting the scholarship recipients and hearing what their plans are for college. The chamber is going to have a table at the St. Louis Business Expo April 8th, from 11am- 5pm, so be sure to stop by and see us. Also, coming up is our 21st Annual MHCC Golf Classic. The tournament will be held Tuesday, June 24th and is returning to the Whitmoor Country Club. We’re excited to have Edward Jones as the Platinum Sponsor for the event. Don’t Miss Our June Luncheon An Update from the Missouri State Auditor Thomas A. Schweisch

State Auditor Tom Schweich is a fifth-generation Missourian and a graduate of St. Louis County Public Schools, Yale, and Harvard Law School. Schweich practiced law for over 20 years in St. Louis at the law firm of Bryan Cave LLP.

Schweich began his public service career investigating the notorious siege at Waco, Texas as part of Jack Danforth’s Special Counsel investigation. Schweich then served as Chief of Staff to three United States Ambassadors to the United Nations and as Deputy Director and Acting Director of the law enforcement division of the U.S. State Depart-ment where he oversaw the activities of 4,000 people in over 40 countries with an annual budget of $2.5 billion. In March 2007, President Bush appointed Schweich U.S. Ambassador for Counternarcotics and Justice Reform in Afghanistan During his ser-vice in the State Department, he led diplomatic missions to approximately 30 countries.

Schweich is the author of three books: Protect Yourself from Business Lawsuits (and lawyers like me), Crashproof Your Life, and Staying Power. In November 2010, the people of Missouri elected Schweich to be their State Auditor. Schweich is married and has two children.
