Did you know that – Madeline Helton received a trophy for Most Christ
Like in her basketball league, what an honor…..The flowers in the
sanctuary on March 17, 2019 were given in honor and appreciation of
all those who contributed to the 2018-2019 Pisgah Basketball
Program......The Deacons have scheduled a Church Work Day on
March 30, 2019. Come, and bring tools, equipment, friends and
family........There will be a 5th Sunday breakfast on March 31st at 8:30
AM......The Pisgah Lunch Bunch have a Tea scheduled at Cornwell
House on April 8th. Cost is $20.00 per person and must be pre-paid by
March 30th to Pat Powell......Pisgah's Annual Youth Golf Tournament
will take place on April 6, 2019 at Cherryville Country Club Golf
Course. All proceeds go to the Appalachia Mission Trip Fund......At
the Morning Worship Service on March 17, 2019 John Lutz was
named elder emeritus. Congratulations to John, who is a faithful,
devoted Son of God. John is now lilving in Alabama with his
daughter, Juanita Owen.......The Pisgah Women's Ministry is
sponsoring a Tree of Life has a fundraiser. The deadline for the
initial order for the tree, leaves, and stones is March 20. Proceeds
from this project will go the Capital Campaign......Lauren Romines
and Jake Baysden have been accepted at Highland School of
Technology......The flowers in the Sanctuary were given in honor of
Angela Foy's 50th birthday on March 23, 2019, given by Robbie,
Elizabeth, Rebecca, Mom, Alice, Tracy and Todd, J. R. and
Nelda......Kaylie Crawford participated in her first wind ensemble
concert playing the bassoon at Coastal Carolina University......Jake
Baysden participated in the Fire Explorers program put on by the
Union Road Fire Department.

Time to Update our Pictorial Directory
When we published our Pictorial Directory in 2017, we were given the opportunity to make additions or corrections when we have at least 15 additions. We have reached that point. When we do this, everyone will get a new updated directory. If, you are a new member, have had additions to your family or would just like to have your picture retaken; or if you were not available when we had the pictures taken, this is your chance to be included. If you would like to participate in this please contact: Barbara or Henry Oates or Treasure Teague.
We are looking to schedule a photo date for this summer on a Saturday.
Please begin bringing plastic eggs and candy donations
for the Easter Egg Hunt on April 20. Donations can be

New Member – We extend a warm welcome to our newest member,
Haaley Barnes, who united with Pisgah on March 24, 2019. Haaley and
Dylan Falls will be married in September.

Did you know that – Carter Brown was a participant in the Mr. Ashbrook
pageant......Stan Burriss has returned to work after being out on medical
leave......The flowers in the sanctuary on March 10, 2019 were given in honor
of Elizabeth Marie Foy on her 19th birthday, March 8, given by: Dad, Mom,
Rebecca, Grandma, Nana, Aunt T and Uncle Todd, Uncle and Aunt
Nelda......Dr. Guy Smith was our guest minister on March 10, 2019......On
March 10, 2019 we also had a guest musician, Mr. Hoyt Taylor, who led the
choir and congregation in an echo version of The Lord's Prayer. Hoyt lives in
Gastonia with his wife, Myra, and he has been a professional piano technician
for over 35 years......The Pisgah Women's Ministry is selling Boston Butts and
Chicken for a spring project. Orders will be ready for pickup on April 7th,
2019......Thanks to all who had a part in preparing the dellicious March
Madness Lunch on March 17, 2019. Proceeds went to the youth's Appalachia
Mission Trip......Gus Anthony had his picture in the March 11th Gaston Gazette
as he talked to students in the Forestview High School forensics class taught
by Terry Pervis......Susan Jenkins was on a trip to Costa Rica......Barbara and
Henry Oates enjoyed a trip to the Holy Land......Jeanelle Bumgardner had
surgery on her hand......Rebecca and Ken Howe visited the Mark Howe family
in Texas......Paula Farmer had knee surgery......Jane McAllister had a picture in
the January 8, 2019 Gaston Gazette......Nathaniel Wray made the Gardner
Webb University Honor Roll for students who achieve a grade point average
of 3.2 to 3.7 during the semester......

Our circle met on March 4, 2019 at Pisgah ARP Church.
Devotions were given by Donna Forbes from Hold Me Up a Little Longer- A Song of Praise for Spring.
Judy McCarthy gave our Bible study on the Saving Righteousness of God.
Justin and Jillian Brickley from Spain were remembered in our Mission Moment given by Donna Forbes.
Treasure Teague gave our treasurer's report.
Myra Stewart read our February minutes.
Gale McMorris, circle leader, reviewed the PWM newsletter and we discussed new and old business.
Our Mary Kennedy Circle birthday is celebrated in April. We will have a special lunch on April 1 at 11AM at Myra Stewart's house.
We joined hands and said the Mizpah prayer and closed our meeting.

The March meeting of the Suzanne Elliott Circle was held on March 4,
2019 and we had 8 members and two visitors present. We had two
visitors with us, Elaine Burleson's caregiver. and Judy McCarthy, our
Bible Study leader.
Kay Robinson did an interesting devotional on the life of St. Patrick.
Ann Teague read the minutes of our February meeting, and Tracy Adams
gave our Treasurer's report. Our circle voted to sponsor one hole for
the annual Youth Golf Tournament. Elaine Burleson will remember our
College Students this month, Tracy Adams our Sunshine Friends, and
Kathy Spencer, our military person, Michelle Ferguson.
Amanda Rubenstein's newsletter was reviewed. Our circle will be
responsible for Mid-Week desserts on March 13th.
Our meeting was closed with the Mizpah benediction, after which Kay
Robinson and Peggy Jenkins furnished delicious refreshments.

The PWM is launching The Tree of Life, an on going fundraiser. All proceeds
will go to the Capital Campaign Fund for ongoing maintenance and
improvements to the Pisgah Campus, including resurfacing the parking lot and
driveways around the church sanctuary.
Special people in our lives can be honored or memorialized by purchasing
leaves or stones. The leaves will be placed on The Tree of Life , and stones
placed below the tree. The Tree of Life will be located in the Elliott Center.
To purchase leaves or stones please complete the order form, (on the
following pages) attach a check payable to PWM and place in the collection
plate or in the church office.

Summer is just around the corner! Go ahead and mark your calendars for this years Summer In The Grove dates-May 15, July 17, August 21. We will have our usual hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings. Each event will have a special theme. This is an evening of fun for your entire family!
How Can You Help? We need donations of door prizes($5 gift cards or gift baskets) be creative and pick up something that you would like to receive! Mostly we need for you to plan to come and bring your friends and neighbors.

Please be aware that Pisgah has a flower calendar in the hall outside the church
office. This is for flowers for the altar table for Sabbath worship service.
Flowers may be placed to honor anniversaries,
birthdays, weddings or just because you wish to
beautify the sanctuary. You may also place
flowers as a memorial. The information you
provide will be published in the bulletin and the
Post. Please pick up your flowers following
worship.
The church office will order the flowers for you.
Pre-pay and give any instructions as to type of
flowers, colors, etc. The price is $50 and up. The
church uses two florists that deliver on Saturday.
You are welcome to use any florist (you will be
responsible for delivery), bring them yourself or
use a live plant or any flowers.

From PWS Director…
April will be a busy month for Pisgah Weekday School. The children will be visiting the
Schiele Museum and the library. We will have gymnastics and yoga classes and the
Easter Bunny will be visiting us for our Easter party. We will also have an Easter Egg
Hunt. We will be learning about spring, butterflies, insects, Earth Day, plants and
Easter. We have a lot to learn this month! Our Spring Break will be April 19-April 26.
We will be back on April 24.

Helping Hands Outreach Ministry of Pisgah Helping Hands will provide short term assistance for members of Pisgah ARP Church during their time of need. The helping hands will offer basic tasks to members of Pisgah ARP Church who have no help from close family or other resources: 1- Grass Cutting, Raking Leaves, Lawn Clean –Up 2- Changing light bulbs or batteries 3- Simple cleaning 4- Grocery Shopping This committee is offering a hands on approach to outreach. This committee will not provide medical assistance or advise. Any financial request would still need to be directed to the benevolent committee. Should you need assistance, please call the church office @ 704-865-7611.
