The rest of Easter Sunday was relatively calm as I spent the day resting and enjoying the “sabbath”. Easter Sunday also marked the end of Lent. This year’s Lent season was a little different for me. Here are a couple of lessons I learned: 1) Lent is not about “proving” something to myself or God. I purposefully “broke” my fast a few times this season to prohibit my “perfectionistic” mentality. 2) During a couple of those times, I was doing so to experience “freedom” in Christ. 3) Overall Lent is not about what I’m doing or giving up but about what Christ gave up for me. A great reminder!

EASTER SUNDAYEaster Sunday was greeted by me and

many alike with an early morning service. I

attended The Movement in Soddy at

9:00am (not quite as early as some of you

had to get up for your “sunrise” service.)

We met at Chester Frost on our little lake

and worshipped together as a community

of Christ-Followers.

Soon after that service (and before it

even ended) a few of us left for another

service where we were scheduled to

perform “Jesus Paid It All”.

I have recently been plugging into

Awaken Community Church, which is also

the location that is “lending” us the

building to use for Elevate. The church is a

new “plant” in our community and I want

to help them build God’s Kingdom through

offering any service I can through Vision 2

Hear.

Sunday Morning we shared in song

and interpretative movement and then the

pastor, Justin Deweese shared a message.

The rest of Easter Sunday was

relatively calm as I spent the day resting

and enjoying the “sabbath”.

Easter Sunday also marked the end of

Lent. This year’s Lent season was a little

different for me. Here are a couple of

lessons I learned:

1) Lent is not about “proving”

something to myself or God. I

purposefully “broke” my fast a few times

this season to prohibit my

“perfectionistic” mentality.

2) During a couple of those times, I

was doing so to experience “freedom” in

Christ.

3) Overall Lent is not about what I’m

doing or giving up but about what Christ

gave up for me. A great reminder!

Peachtree Easter Show

This month WAVE Team Members

from Stockbridge, Fayetteville, Snellville,

and Soddy shared in an Easter event in

Peachtree City at Peachtree

Presbyterian Church. It was a great

event for sponsored by the church for

their children’s department.

We arrived to a warm welcome with

a nice pancake breakfast and orange

juice. The team settled in as we

prepared to minister to a church that had

never seen us before!

We were able to make the contact

through Nicole from our Fayetteville

Team, whose teacher attends the

church. After seeing “Coley” perform at

school one day, the teacher asked where

she learned how to do this and she told

her about WAVE and V2H.

We were able to arrange the Easter

program and have a few of our WAVE

Teams there and it was a great time for

all. The program featured the

Stockbridge team, the Fayetteville team,

and members of the South Side,

Snellville, and Soddy Daisy Teams.

With this performance, the teams

helped shared Superhero, Happy Day, A

Better Way, Like A Lion, and Jesus Paid

It All. George shared Arise My Love as

an Easter special.

After the performance many were

very complementary about the

worship experience and several

commented of how they had

“never seen anything like this

before”.

As we cleaned up, a few people

actually met with some of our

Fayetteville leaders to discuss

starting a team. This would be great

since the Fayetteville team only meets 9

miles from Peachtree Presbyterian.

Hopefully a team will grow out of this

performance and God will continue to

use our Nicole’s performance at her

school to begin something brand new!

Universe: All-Stars

History of George Camps

The summer of 2002 is when “George Camps” began. The camp grew out of the outrageous sessions George used to have with students at Palmetto Bay Academy (now known as Christ Fellowship Academy) during Spiritual Emphasis Weeks.

After the second year of speaking at PBA (CF), George hosted the first George Camp and the rest is history in the making.

George Camps are all about crazy, messy, wild and fun times but also about singing, praising and learning about Jesus. During George Camps, children from 3rd grade through 6th grade learn Bible verses, have meaningful lessons, and develop life-long memories that change and shape their lives forever! Check out this link for more George Camp images and video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFE2GpN_6F0

George Camp 2011

This yearʼs theme for George Camp is UNIVERSE ALL-STARS. Our goal for camp is to help children know how they can be lights for Jesus. As we dive into this yearʼs camp, we will explore the truth about being Godʼs Light and allowing His Light to shine through us! From the way we talk to each other to the way we serve one another, we can all be stars for Jesus! Join us for a week you wonʼt forget and Be A Star in the Universe!

15 Then you will be innocent and without any wrong. You will be God's children without fault. But you are living with crooked and mean people all around you, among whom you shine like stars in the dark world. Philippians 2:15
