Response to Questions - (Pre-bid)

Date: February 9, 2015 Re: FAMU Vet - Tech Facility The following are answers to questions submitted during the Vet Tech bidding process.

1. The allowance amount we are to include for covering Talquin Electric Cooperative

charges is not clear for me. Are we to include the $7,500.00 for the 4” service + $1,650.00 system charge for the 2” meter for a total of $9,150.00? Or are we to include $7,500.00 + $1,650.00 + $10,000.00 “Talquin Electric Fee” for a total of $19,150.00? Please clarify. The total will be $19,550.00. Please see the breakdown below: 4" line fee - All bidders will include a $7,500.00 allowance in their bid price to pay Talquin Water and Sewer Cooperative to install the 4 –inch service line connection as shown on the upper right inset of sheet C 601 (items identified as By Talquin). 3. The wall type shown on A1.1 around the fire pump is wall type 5. Sheet S1.1 shows

load bearing metal stud walls in these locations. I believe the wall type on A1.1 in this area should be 6A. Please clarify. The east wall of the fire pump room should be type 5 as it is in line with the metal building structure. The other 3 walls will be metal stud walls. All walls must be 1-hour rated. A new wall type is provided for the other 3 walls - see wall type 10C.

4. In the small procedure room in the existing facility that is being renovated to provide access to the new facility there is existing plumbing in the floor. There is a drain and supply lines that are connected to the procedure table in that room. I did not notice where the plumbing is addressed on the demolition plans or on the plumbing sheets. Is it to be removed and capped below the floor or routed to a new location? Please clarify. The drain in this room shall be capped. It will not be removed.

5. In the same procedure room referenced in question 1 there is a wall mounted light fixture used at this procedure table. Is this fixture to be relocated to another location or removed and turned over the owner? Please clarify. It will be removed from the existing surgery and relocated to the new surgery. Unistrut and / or framing shall be provided to suspend the light from the new roof structure. The sheet E2.1 indicates power for the relocated surgical light. The exact location in the new room will be coordinated with the user.

6. In the existing facility, the procedure room that will be renovated to create access to the new facility contains a procedure table. Is the contractor responsible for relocating, moving, or disposing of this table? Please clarify. The contractor will be responsible for removal of the furnishings as part of demolition. Furnishings will be turned over to the owner.

7. Will the tables that are to be removed (Demo Note A) from the existing classroom space be turned over to the owner, disposed of by the contractor, or moved to some other location by the contractor? Please clarify. They will be turned over to the owner.

8. On A1.1 construction note 19 requests an alternate for substituting wall type 6 for wall types 5 and 6A. It appears this would require deleting the girts from the PEMB structure and framing this wall with 6” studs. Is the intent to delete the PEMB girts at these locations if the alternate is selected? Would that alternate wall type stop at the “Feline Holding Area” or continue all the way to the north west corner and around the new fire pump room? Please see the provided details (in Addendum 2) for the wall condition if the fiber cement alternate is chosen. Where girts exist, furring channels will be

attached to them, running vertically, to support plywood sheathing and the fiber cement siding.

9. Sheet E1.0 shows (2) new underground primaries. We assume Talquin is responsible for the wire. Who is responsible for the conduit? If this is to be included in our scope of work, what size conduit should be included? There is in fact only 1 primary underground feeder, the one from the southwest. All primary work is done by Talquin Electric.

10. Sheet A0.1 has BS.3 listed. Please provide specification for 6” tile base. The tile base and floor reference are deleted. The floors in the toilet room will be sealed concrete. A sealed concrete specification is provided in this addendum.

11. Are we to include Telecom in our bid?

Conduit and boxes only. 12. On page E1.1 in the darkroom in the existing building there is a wall mounted fixture

symbol labeled RED LIGHT, are we supplying this fixture? If so we need specs for it.

A red, incandescent bulb in a keyless socket.
