The Movement is an in-

ternational student-

driven fundraiser for the

Muscular Dystrophy As-

sociation (MDA) in which all of DECA can participate. This project has been orga-

nized by former Oklahoma State Officer, Jay Koontz, and

DECA’s National Officer Team. The goal of The Movement is

to strengthen the MDA-DECA partnership by uniting chapter

efforts to support MDA through community service or by

raising funds for MDA research. Get involved simply by

raising money for MDA and serving them in your local com-

munity. A toolkit will give ideas for fundraisers and service

opportunities. It will be sent to each chapter when they join online at

https://www.ourmvmt.com/join.

Introducing…. Your 2013-2014 Area 7 President

Colin Piwtorak! Hello, my name is Colin Piwtorak and I am cur-rently a junior at Rogers High School in Puyallup. I be-came involved in DECA through my school’s Business and Marketing classes as a freshman. This year and last I qualified to compete at SCDC with the help of my partner in Finance Team Decision Making both years and Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan this year. Joining DECA has been one of the best highlights of my high school career and it is on-ly getting better. Other activities I am involved in outside of DECA include Cross Country, Track & Field, symphonic winds, and jazz band. Making new connections and learning valuable infor-mation along the way, DECA has become part of my life and I can-not wait to represent Area 7 and Washington DECA next year. Colin will take office this April/May at ICDC and will serve until ICDC the following year. Good luck!
