For my ancillary text to relate and conform to the conventions of with music video I researched and have to design a digipak and magazine advert for the album. For our

indie singer songwriter artist ‘Mason Brooks’ I have come up with a Logo to establish brand identity making my artist a recognizable brand and promote star

image which will be synergized with the music on the digipak and magazine ad. This logo will become a part of the identity of the artist, so therefore to come up with a unique logo for the band I have conducted research and looked at different logos

from artist within the same genre picked up common codes and conventions that I can integrate in our own logo.

Lord and George Ezra are both artist of the singer songwriter genre. Both their logos are black bold writing based on a white background which is a common convention of the singer song writer genre due to its simplistic design conveying the importance of the music or any thing else. The font used is easily readable as their names are spelt in capital letters. In addition the contrast between black typography and white background somewhat creates an easier observation therefore putting more emphasis on the text drawing the audiences attention and also creating a sense of dominance and highlights there stardom and how their names should be the main interest of the audiences attention.

The font and logo that I have chosen to be featured on my ancillary text and overlayed text on my music video has been constructed to establish brand identity my artist to become a recognizable brand. Furthermore, the featured font I have chosen for my ancillary text is of type writer style font, as if it was written using a typewriter, connoting my artist individuality and composing of his own his music .in addition the simplistic typography conforms to the conventions of indie singer songwriter genre; as the typography simplistic and not overpowering, which connotes the greater importance of the music over the materialistic aesthetics commonly associated with mainstream culture moreover it also symbolizes that my artist writes and composes his own songs.
