There are approximately 7 Billion people currently living on this Earth.
7 Billion
Of those 7 Billion, around 30% make up it’s ‘Digital Population’.
2 Billion
While it differs greatly between regions, many internet users don’t see internet piracy as wrong. China and Columbia, for example, have extremely high estimated rates of some form of piracy with
internet users.
For the average individual, piracy is not something people think of as important beyond
their personal needs. Most digital music distributed online, for example, is shared illegally.
That digital issue is one that impacts industry beyond the purely digital. On average a single
person has $600 worth of illegally obtained music on their iPod.
Perhaps not damaging on the individual, but on a broader scale? The numbers are pretty big.
