Site and/or comment ActionFurther support for introducing a wheels park under the M32.

Happy with the report as it reflects the feedback. Victorian railings in Bellevue Road should be mentioned specifically in the entrances and access section. Bannerman Road Park should be made a priority due to lack of space in the area and high population.

Railings at Bellevue Road are included in the site specific priorities, while the play area has been identified as a high priority along with making the full park dog free. Railings could potentially be part of this larger project.Bannerman Road Park has not been identified as a high priority site as other nearby spaces appear to generate more visits. However, the priorities should be viewed as flexible and may change over time. A review of priorities after a year is recommended.

Gullybrook Action Group: Children's play park on our estate which is badly in need of cleaning up and upgrading.

This playground is currently managed by Housing and falls outside the remit of this parks investment plan. Therefore it has not been included as part of this list.

Play equipment is mostly aimed at small children, so the older ones get bored and intimidate the little ones.

The type of equipment installed will be decided at the project management stage and after consultation with the community.

Friends Of Netham: Support the exploration of a space/wheels park for young people. Where possible all parks should be accessible for all abilities. Support the creation of wildflower meadows etc. for residents to enjoy.

Noted

Fox Road Park Group: Generally support for the aims. Rather than dog free areas, would prefer to see enforcement of current laws.

Noted, some proposed dog free areas have been removed from consideration due to their unsuitability. However, creation of dog free areas is encouraged by the Parks and Green Space Strategy and has been keenly requested by some communities. It is included as an equalities consideration.

Chatterton's House and garden: There is a plan in place to renovate the garden approved by The Thomas Chatterton Society. Could not some sum be made available to get this project started? £3000 would at least get the garden underway and ready for next summer. If

This site is not considered by the Parks and Green Space Strategy. The Neighbourhood Partnership could decide it is a priority.

Page 2: Ashley, Easton and Lawrence Hill Parks and Green space investment priorities - December 2011

the garden was  renovated and used then it would be easier to progress towards getting the house renovated as a memorial to Chatterton.

Montpelier ParkMontpelier Park Group: The project to regenerate Montpelier Park has been ignored. More weight should be given to this in the prioritisation process. Planning permission has been awarded for this, after extensive community consultation. The skateable space is the third phase of work in Montpelier Park and is currently unfunded (requires £30-40k). The spectator seating space is the fourth phase of work in Montpelier Park and is currently unfunded (requires £35-45k).

Montpelier Park has now been included in the priority list in relation to supporting the regeneration project.

Mina Road ParkMina Road Park Group: Opposes link between Mina Road Park and Ashley Street Park and upgrading footpaths, both are unnecessary. Mina Road Park needs to be expanded in size.

Both priorities for Mina Road Park have been removed. Expansion to Mina Road Park currently sits outside the scope of the investment priorities, however, the principle is supported in the Area Green Space Plan (AGSP) Ideas and Options Paper and is reflected in the key priority of working towards increasing the amount of open space in the area.

St Werburghs ParkMina Road Park Group: St Werburghs Park should not be made dog free as site is in high demand for dog walking.

St Werburghs Park has been removed from the priority list in relation to making the space dog free

Owen Square Requires more seating. Quite a few people have asked to have a ping pong table fixed in place

Are reflected within the priorities.

Fox ParkAdd an acoustic barrier to reduce the noise of the motorway.Residents Of Fox Road: Sex Workers, sex litter, Punters Hanging around. Late at night. Drug Dealing/ unsafe needles and anti social behaviour i.e. fighting, drinkers. Unsightly unkempt open spaces, General Rubbish every where and Dog Fouling. Huge Trees never maintained, unsightly Vegetation unclean Car Parks.Fox Road Park Group: Support all aims, but park suffers Anti-Social Behaviour. Sex workers, sex and drug litter, littering. If pond and wildflower meadow is

Comments have been incorporated into the priority list where possible, however car parks in the area do not fall within the remit of the Parks and Green Space strategy.

Any new planting scheme will be carefully drawn up in consultation with the community.

Page 3: Ashley, Easton and Lawrence Hill Parks and Green space investment priorities - December 2011

created, should use native species.

Spark Evans Park Friends Of Netham: The notion of a premium football venue would conflict with the nearby eight football pitches and changing rooms available at the Netham, which at the moment is not fully utilized. This park is a badly needed lung in a mainly low-level industrial area heavy with lorries and cars. We would image Bristol Dogs Home would miss the facility for walking their dogs.

Noted.

Marsh LaneFriends Of Netham: Very important for wildlife and has a function as a wildlife corridor.

Noted.

Riverside ParkFox Road Park Group: Clear unwanted invasive species. No need for play equipment.

Any new planting scheme will be carefully drawn up in consultation with the community. It is not intended to introduce formal play equipment in the space, as outlined in the AGSP, but to provide some activities for young people within the NP, such as a logs to climb/sit on or activities for bicycles. This was highlighted as an important space for young people on both the AGSP consultation and the community consultation run by Love Easton.
