The Rules in the Contest Room

Each contestant is only allowed to enter contest venue in uniform T-

shirt, with a badge and photo student ID card on Saturday, 11/10.

A USB Flash drive will be provided for each team member in the

problem bag on Saturday, 11/10.

4. Please inform our staff if there is any problem with hardware.

Team Composition Rules

General Rules

1. A representative of the sponsoring institution of higher education,

typically a faculty member, must serve as or designate the team coach.

The coach certifies the eligibility of contestants and serves as the

official point-of-contact with the team prior to and during contest

activities. A team may only have one coach.

2. The coach must fully register teams in the ICPC Registration System

within the time set by the regional rules which, for all Regional contests,

is no later than 7 days before the contest. A team is not eligible to

compete in the regional contest until the regional contest director has

accepted the team in the web registration system. Teams failing to

comply with any of these requirements will be ruled ineligible to

compete. Only registered reserves may be substituted for contestants.

Such substitutions must be entered in the ICPC registration system by

the regional contest director before the contest begins.

3. Each team consists of three contestants. Each contestant must be a

student enrolled in a degree program at the sponsoring institution with

at least a half-time load. This rule is not to be construed as disqualifying

co-op students, exchange students, or students serving internships. A

student may compete for only one institution during a contest year.

4. A student may compete in at most of five regional contests

commencing with the first regional contest held after the student begins

post-secondary studies at an institution of higher education. A student

who has competed in two World Finals is no longer eligible to compete.

5. A student who meets the Basic Requirements and FIRST began post-

secondary studies in 2014 or later is eligible to compete.

6. A student who meets the Basic Requirements and was born in 1995 or

later is eligible to compete.

7. A coach may request an extension of eligibility for a student whose

full-time studies have been interrupted or extended provided that the

coach can demonstrate that such an extension would not provide an

unfair advantage to the team. To make such a request, the coach must

petition the ICPC Eligibility Committee through the ICPC on-line

registration system at least three weeks before the regional contest. The

ICPC Eligibility Committee will render a decision within five business

days.

8. In addition to the general rules, a team must meet the 2018 regional

contest eligibility requirements to be able to compete in the regional

contest.

競賽須知

總則

〔請以英文版為準〕

1. 指導老師由各校專任教師擔任，以保證參賽隊員符合參賽資格，

並於競賽前及活動中擔任該隊與大會間的聯絡人。

2. 指導老師應於各區域賽所訂期限內於 ICPC註冊系統完成註冊報

名程序(比賽前七日內，不得再更改)，並經各區域賽主席於線上

報名系統中接受其報名後，始得參賽。未遵守上述規定者，不得

參賽。預備隊員亦須註冊報名，才能替補參賽。替補參賽者應於

比賽開始前通知大會，由區域賽主席於線上報名系統加註替補情

事。

3. 每支隊伍應有三位隊員，每位隊員須為全職學生身分。一位學生

每年度只能代表一校參賽。

4. 攻讀學士學位者於就學後，至多可選擇五場區域賽參加。己參加

過兩屆世界大賽者，亦不得參賽。

5. 每位參賽學生基本參賽資格必須是西元 2014年以後入學的人。

6. 每位參賽學生基本參賽資格必須是 1995以後出生的人。

7. 各隊指導老師可為曽休學或延畢之全職學生提出參賽申請，若個

案經審核符合公平原則，始得參賽。此一申請須於區域賽前三

周，經 ICPC線上註冊系統向 ICPC資格審查委員會提出，該委

員會將於 5個工作天內作出決議。

8. 除了以上通則之外，參賽隊伍必須符合及遵守所參賽區域的規

則，始得參加競賽。

Regional Rules

These rules are written in U.S. English. Teams such as “baccalaureate

degree” have different meanings in different countries. Team composition

rules may vary at each contest site to accommodate these differences. The

Steering Committee at each site will interpret such differences.

1. The Coach will be the team representative and point of contact during

Regional Contest activities. The Coach may appoint “associate coaches”

for the team.

2. A team is not eligible to compete in the Regional Contest until the

Registration Chair of the contest site has received all materials that

certify eligibility from the coach.

3. Registration will be done on a first-come-first-served basis. In order to

obtain a contest roster (which represents as many different universities/

colleges as possible), universities/colleges registering a second team

will be informed of its status (entered or has not been accepted) within

two weeks after the registration deadline.

4. Contestants are NOT required to be student members of ACM in order

to be eligible to compete in a regional contest. Note, however, that all

World Finals contestants are required to be student members of ACM

one month before the World Finals.

5. Each University or colleges in Asia can organize teams to participate

in the contests at any site or multiple sites. However, a contestant can

participate, at most, in two (2) Asian contest sites during a contest year.

台北賽區競賽須知


本競賽規則以英文版為準。參賽隊伍資格如「大學學位」在不同地

區有不同認定者，交由各地區委員會解釋。

1. 參賽隊伍的指導老師即為該隊聯絡人，負責所有參賽的聯繫事

宜。指導老師亦可指派助理教練。

2. 主辦單位接獲參賽隊伍的報名資料，並經指導老師簽署確認參賽

隊員的資格後，該隊始具參賽資格。

3. 參賽登錄採「先報先辦」原則。為維護各校參賽機會，同校其他

報名隊伍之參賽資格，將由賽區主席於報名審核並截止日後二週

內通知是否可以參賽。

4. 參加亞洲區競賽者毋須為 ACM的會員，但晉級 2018年 ACM世

界大賽者，必須在決賽前一個月，成為 ACM的學生會員。

5. 亞洲地區每所大專院校皆可組隊參加任一賽區或多個賽區的競

賽，但同一參賽隊員每年度最多僅能參加兩場亞洲賽區的競賽。

Conduct of the Regional Contests

1. Solutions to problems submitted for judging are called runs. Each run

is judged as accepted or rejected by a judge, and the team is notified

of the results.

2. Notification of accepted runs may be suspended at an appropriate

time to keep the final results secret. A general announcement to that

effect will be made during the contest. Notification of rejected runs

will continue until the end of the contest.

3. A contestant may submit a claim of ambiguity or error in a problem

statement by submitting a clarification request to a judge. If the

judges agree that an ambiguity or error exists, a clarification will be

issued to all contestants.

4. Contestants are not to converse with anyone except members of their

team and personnel designated by the regional contest director.

Systems support staff may advise contestants on system-related

problems such as explaining system error messages.

5. While the contest is scheduled for a particular time length (typically

five hours), the regional contest director has the authority to alter the

length of the contest in the event of unforeseen difficulties. Should

the contest duration be altered, every attempt will be made to notify

contestants in a timely and uniform manner.

6. A team may be disqualified by the regional contest director for any

activity that jeopardizes the contest such as dislodging extension

cords, unauthorized modification of contest materials, or distracting

behavior.

7. At least six problems will be posed. So far as possible, problems will

avoid dependence on detailed knowledge of a particular applications

area or particular contest language.

競賽方式


1. 每完成一題解題程式上傳後，由裁判評定該次結果正確與否後

通知各隊伍。

2. 競賽結束前一小時，解題程式正確者，可能不通知參賽隊員，

以保密最終結果，但如程式錯誤，其結果將持續通知各隊伍。

3. 參賽者可要求說明語意不清或錯誤之題目。經判定同意後，大

會將公開對所有參賽者作說明。

4. 除隊友及大會指派之工作人員外，參賽者不得與他人員交談。

而大會工作人員也只能就系統相關問題回答競賽者，例如：解

釋系統錯誤訊息等。

5. 必要時，大會主席可以修改比賽時間。如比賽時間需修改，工

作人員將盡一切可能及時、統一告知參賽者。

6. 如參賽隊伍有任何違反競賽規則、或破壞競賽秩序的行為，大

會主席得取消該隊伍的參賽資格。

7. 試題至少六題，題目盡可能地不偏重某一知識領域或有奇怪的

比賽用語。

Regional Contest Rules

The contest director may disqualify teams that fail to comply the

procedure.

1. Contestants must wear the official T-shirts and the badges during all

events on the contest day. (November 10th 2018)

2. Please bring your photo ID and put it on the table for inspection.

(There will be inspection on the first day and the second day)

3. Each team may only enter the contest site to compete with exactly

three contestants.

4. If you have any problem, please raise your hand and ask the staffs for

help.

5. Each team can only use one computer

6. Before the contest, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING unless further

instructions are given, otherwise you may be disqualified.

7. You may print your code during the contest, the staff will bring the

printed copy to your seat.

8. If you need any extra blank papers during the contest, please contact

the staffs.

9. Please back up your data whenever necessary, however please don’t

compile directly on the USB.

Regional Contest (RC) Notes

1. Contestants must provide credential with photo ID on Regional

Contest (including student’s ID card) as certification. If a contestant

does not have his student’s ID card, please provide student identity

certification before the end of the contest. Otherwise, the team shall be

disqualified and the rank shall not be counted.

2. Contestants shall not enter the contest area 20 minutes after the

Regional Contest begins.

比賽注意事項

如不遵守下列流程規則，將可取消隊伍的參賽資格。

1. 參賽者必須穿著官方 T-shirt與戴上名牌參與比賽日(2018年 11

月 10日)的所有活動。

2. 請攜帶有頭像證件入場並放於桌面以備查驗。(第 1天報到及第

2天入場都要查驗)

3. 每隊必須以三名參賽者進入賽場。

4. 如有任何問題，請舉手尋求工作人員協助。

5. 每隊限用一台電腦。

6. 比賽開始前，禁止碰觸如鍵盤、滑鼠及裝題本的信封等物品，

情節重大者取消參賽資格。

7. 比賽中可以列印程式碼，工作人員會將列印的資料送至您的座

位。

8. 比賽中需要空白紙張，請與工作人員聯繫。

9. 比賽中請隨時備份您的資料，但請勿直接在 USB上編譯

(compile)。

區域賽注意事項

1. 區域賽比賽當日請攜帶學生證及有照片之證件，請務必出示可

供辨識照片之證件，以便進行身份之查核，若未帶學生證，煩

請簽具切結書，並於比賽結束前補交學生證明文件，否則取消

該組比賽資格及名次。

2. 區域賽於開賽後 20分鐘則不可進場。

Contest Spot Rules

1. Prohibited items

(1) Any machine-readable materials are not allowed.

(2) Any printed materials (including dictionary) are not allowed.

(3) Any communication devices, such as mobile phone, smart watch, etc. are not

allowed.

(4) Any electronic devices except keyboard, including digital watch, are not allowed.

(5) Additional blank paper, graph paper, are not allowed. Additional blank paper will

be provided, if needed.

(6) Drinking water will be provided at the venue. Entrance with any kind of food,

drinks, or water bottle is forbidden. For any special requirements, please apply

beforehand.

2. Permitted items

(1) In regard to 1-1, a team can bring up to three identical copies limited to:

Up to 25 pages (A4-size paper).

Printed or written on single side.

Page number clearly labeled in the top right corner.

All copies will be reviewed and should be place at the team table on the first day,

all of which are prohibited to be taken out of the venue.

(2) Stationary items, such as pen, pencil, eraser, ruler.

(3) Non-electronic team mascots and lucky items that will not disturb other teams or

staffs.

3. Keyboard

(1) No additional function is allowed.

(2) It should be quiet enough to avoid any complaint from other teams.

(3) Note that it is not guaranteed that it is compatible with the provided work station.

(4) Only one keyboard may be simultaneously used during the contest.

(5) After inspection before the contest, it should be place at the team table, and it is

prohibited to be taken out of the venue.

All items should be brought to the contest site during the practice contest, and should

be provided for inspection. Once the item passes the inspection, such as keyboard,

mascots, it should be place at the team table, all of which are prohibited to be taken out

of the venue.

會場注意事項

1. 禁止攜帶物品

(1) 任何機器可讀的資料。

(2) 任何書籍（含字典）

(3) 任何通訊裝置，如行動電話、智慧手錶等等。

(4) 除鍵盤外的其它電子裝置，含電子錶。

(5) 額外的空白紙、方格紙。如賽中需要空白紙張，請與工作人員聯繫

(6) 會場備有飲用水，請勿攜帶任何食物、飲料、飲水(保溫瓶、水壺)入內，

有特殊需求者事先提出申請。

2. 可攜帶之物品

(1) 25頁 A4單面紙(相同一式三份)，並於右上角清楚標示頁碼，且須第一天

檢查後放置會場，不得再攜出。

(2) 文具如筆、鉛筆、橡皮擦、直尺。

(3) 無電子功能且不干擾其他隊伍與工作人員之吉祥物或是幸運物。

3. 鍵盤

(1) 僅限有線鍵盤，不得有其他功能。

(2) 要足夠安靜以免其他隊伍抗議。

(3) 不保證可用於主辦單位提供之工作站。

(4) 比賽中同一時間只能使用一組鍵盤。

(5) 賽前一天經檢查後，須置於比賽會場，不得再攜出。

所有物品均需在練習賽時帶到賽場，供主辦單位檢視，未經主辦單位檢視通

過者，比賽當日不得攜入會場。經檢查後之物品如鍵盤、吉祥物等等須置於比

賽會場，不得再攜出。

5. Depart from Taipei Main Station by Taipei MRT:

The National Taiwan University (NTU) is located right next to the Exit 3 of

the Gongguan Metro Station [Songshan – Xindian Line]. The Exit No.3

is only 3 minutes away from the main entrance of the NTU by foot.

Taxis Taxi queues are outside the Arrival Halls of both terminals. To ensure the safety of

passengers, only the taxis approved by the Aviation Police Bureau are permitted to

operate in Taoyuan Airport.

Airport taxis charge according to the meter in addition to a 50% surcharge

(highway tolls not included) and provide transport to anywhere in Taiwan. (A

typical taxi fare to Taipei is approx. NT$1,350~1,500.)

方案（一）捷運

（松山新店線）Songshan—Xindian Line

自台北車站捷運站搭乘搭乘紅線 [淡水信義線]，經 2站至中正紀念堂，轉乘

青線[松山新店線]，經 2站至公館站 3號出口。臺灣大學位於捷運公館站旁，

捷運公館站的 3號出口距離本校校門口僅需 3分鐘的步行時間。

Depart from Taipei Main Station by Taipei MRT, the NTU is located right next to

the Gongguan Metro Station [Songshan- Xindian Line ]. Enter the Taipei Railway

Station. Proceed to the [Tamsui – Xinyi Line] platform. Take the red line [Tamsui

– Xinyi Line] and pass 2 stations to the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.

Transfer to the green line [Songshan – Xindian Line] and pass to station to the Exit

3 of the Gongguan Station (National Taiwan University). The Exit No.3 is only 3

minutes away from the main entrance of the NTU by foot.

（文湖線）Wenshan—Neihu Line

若您欲到達臺大校總區東北側，則可考慮搭乘捷運文湖線，在科技大樓站下

車，之後沿著復興南路往南走，便可抵達本校辛亥門。

If you wish to reach the north-east side of the NTU main campus, you may

consider taking [ Wenshan- Neihu Line ] and getting off at Technology Building

Station. Then walk southward along FuXing South Road, you may reach the

XinHai Entrance of the NTU.
