There are 245 lots catalogued for today’s session, many of whom have missed a previous year- ling sale engagement earlier in the year. That applies to the day's standout pedigree, Lot 189 , a colt from the first crop of Galileo (Ire) (Sadler's Wells). The half brother to five black-type performers, including G1 Grand Criterium winner Second Empire (Ire) (Fairy King), hails from Pat O'Kelly's Kilcarn Stud and was with- drawn from Goffs' Orby Sale. Lot 212 , a Fantastic Light (Rahy) colt out of Glamadour (Ire) (Sanglamore), made 115,000gns as a foal, but was withdrawn from Tattersalls' October Yearling Sale. American-bred and sired yearlings are well represented. Lot 58 , a Red Ransom half sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Marlin (Sword Dance {Ire}), was bought in for 100,000gns at Tattersalls in October. Red Ransom is also responsible for Lot 176 , a filly out of Gaye's Express (Timeless Native) who was an $85,000 Keeneland RNA in Sep- tember. Pine Bluff has a rare European representative in Lot 183 , a colt out of Viva Maria (GB) (Hernando {Fr}) bred by Kirsten Rausing and consigned from her Irish stud, Staffordstown. Foals will be featured from Nov. 24th through the 27th, while the mare sessions run from the 29th through Dec. 2nd. For catalog, updates and current outs, visit www.tattersalls.com . ASMUSSEN BREAKS WIN RECORD SteveAsmussen surpassed the North American single sea-son win record with a dramatic victory in the Delta

Belle S. at Delta Downs Satur-day night. That victory gaveAsmussen 497 wins in 2004,passing the mark of 496 set in1976 by Jack Van Berg. Theconditioner tied Van Berg’smark earlier in the night whenExpect Will captured theGroovy S. at Sam HoustonRace Park. But the record wasall Asmussen’s when CoronadoGold overtook True Tails in adetermined stretch drive in theDelta Belle. The 39-year-oldAsmussen has won or tied forthe training title at eight meetsaround the country this season.

Van Berg had nothing but praise for the man whotook away his 28-year-old record. “He’s got to beworking to win that many races,” Van Berg saidyesterday.

WEIGHT COULD ALTER AZERI’S PLANS Azeri(Jade Hunter)’s particpation in Thursday’s GII Falls CityH. at Churchill Downs has been cast in doubt by her126-pound impost in the 1 1/8-miles race. Trainer D.Wayne Lukas said a final decision on a possible FallsCity start for the champion would be left to ownerMichael Paulson. Azeri has breezed once since finishingfifth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, going a half mile in:47.60 on Nov. 9. “She doesn’t need much,” Lukasexplained. “That last race was a very good one.”Should she bypass the Falls City, Azeri would ship backto California and would likely get the rest of the yearoff. Another Falls City contender, Indy Groove (A.P.Indy), worked five furlongs Sunday at Churchill in 1:02.
