Biography (EN):

Dr. Sevgi Gezici has been working as an assistant professor at Kilis 7 Aralık University,

Faculty of Art and Science, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. After receiving

her bachelor degrees in Gaziantep University, Department of Biology between 2005-2009,

she earned her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in 2011 and 2017, respectively, Molecular Biology

and Genetics at Department of Biology, Gaziantep University, Turkey. During her Ph.D.

studies, she got acceptance from Texas A&M University, Faculty of Life Sciences Research

Center, and continued her Ph.D. studies in the United States of America for a short period

in 2014. Additionally, during her M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies, she was awarded with The

Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) scholarships. Dr. Gezici

has authored or co-authored in more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and

national/international meetings. She has attended many organizations as an attendee, a

scientific committee and an organizing committee member in national/international

congress, meetings and course. She has also given invited talks in international meetings

and congress in the USA, Japan, Slovakia, and Russia etc.

Research Interest: Human Genetics, Molecular Biology of Cancer, Cancer Genetics,

Apoptosis and Signaling Pathways, Cancer Proteomics, Bioinformatics, Clinical Proteomics,

Medical Biology, Mutation Analysis of DNA & RNA, Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, In vivo and

In vitro Anticancer and Antitumor Researches.

Biyografi (TR)

Yrd. Doç. Dr. Sevgi Gezici, Kilis 7 Aralık Üniversitesi, Fen – Edebiyat Fakültesi, Moleküler

Biyoloji ve Genetik Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Lisans eğitimini

Gaziantep Üniversitesi Biyoloji Bölümü’nde tamaladıktan sonra, Moleküler Biyoloji ve

Genetik alanında 2011 yılında yüksek lisans ve 2017 yılında doktora eğitimini tamamlamıştır.

Doktora çalışmaları sırasında Amerika, Texas A&M University, Faculty of Life Sciences

Research Center’da kısa süreli misafir araştırmacı olarak bulunmuştur (2014). Yüksek lisans

ve doktora eğtimi süresince, TÜBİTAK tarafından Bilim Adamı Yetiştirme Bursu ile

ödüllendirilmiştir. Dr. Gezici’nin başlıca yazar veya ortak yazar olarak yer aldığı 60’dan fazla

makalesi ve bildirisi bulunmaktadır. Katılımcı, düzenleme ve bilim kurulu üyesi olarak

ulusal/uluslararası düzeyde pek çok toplantı, kongre ve kursa katılmıştır. Ayrıca, Amerika,

Japonya, Slovakya ve Rusya gibi ülkelerde düzenlenen uluslararası toplantı ve kongrelerde

davetli konuşmacı olarak konferanslar vermiştir.
