TRANSCRIPT
From a song stage in Sweden to pregnancy health
classes in Southeast Asia, IMB missionaries find
creative and effective ways to meet people where
they are. And they are grateful for Southern
Baptists’ prayers and gifts that make it possible to
share Jesus with those who don’t know Him.
This year’s eight Week of Prayer stories illustrate
how we are united as we join God in His work.
When you pray and give, you support those who
extend your outreach from your church to those
without Christ. You become part of God’s story
around the world!
The best story, of course, is written by the Author
of all history. In His perfect plan to redeem all
peoples, He continues to call His people to
advance His Gospel among all nations, together, in
one sacred effort.
Join us Tuesday, December 2 at the CBA office at
7:00 to hear more about International Missions
and how you can be a part of their story. Flier
included.

Memo for the Mission Minded
By Sandy Weadon CBA WMU Director
A new year in WMU brings a
new emphasis: All for You—Surrender,
Sacrifice, Serve. Over the next two years we
will be exploring what it means to surrender
our lives, will, and ambitions to follow Jesus;
sacrifice our time, talents, and resources for
the sake of the Kingdom; and serve Jesus by
serving others.
Surrender. Sacrifice. Serve.
Mark 8:34 tells us we must be willing to give it
all up to be a disciple of Jesus. This is not a one
time commitment. We must die to ourselves
and follow him daily. Have you surrendered all
to Him? What is God calling you to sacrifice?
How is God leading you to serve? These are
the questions we must ask ourselves as we
continue to grow spiritually and missionally.

October is the month set aside to recognize the Cooperative Program. Southern Baptists are a fellowship of almost 16 million members in approximately 45,764 churches in all 50 states and Canada. These churches work together through approximately 1,174 associations, 42 state conventions, and the Southern Baptist Convention to accomplish through voluntary cooperation far more than they could ever do alone. Visit www.sbc.net for information, statistics, reports, missionary testimonies, videos and bulletin inserts. See flier included.
Pure Water, Pure Love
The primary goal of Pure Water, Pure Love is to provide missionaries with water filters and the people they serve with wells that offer clean water, free from disease-causing microorganisms. With the help of hundreds of churches, PWPL provides thousands of water filters to missionary families and helps fund clean water projects.
When I hear the words “world hunger,” it’s a bit
overwhelming and depressing. Our world is BIG
and hunger needs are GREAT. What can I do to
make a difference in the fight against hunger? I’m
reminded of a passage in Matthew 25:31–46.
When we serve others, out of our love for Christ,
we are serving Him. Each year, on the second
Sunday in October, Southern Baptists observe
World Hunger Sunday. This is a day to help your
congregation understand this issue, learn about
ways that Southern Baptists are actively
addressing hunger, and find out ways you can be
involved as well. Through gifts to the Southern
Baptist Global Hunger Relief, both physical and
spiritual needs are being met in North America
and around the world. Consider collecting an
offering for Global Hunger Relief or collecting for a
local food pantry or contributing to Pure Water,
Pure Love.
Visit globalhungerrelief.com or gobgr.org for fliers,
prayer guides, videos, and other helpful resources
and information. Bulletin insert included.
The National Peanut Festival is fast approaching
and there are a number of ways you can minister
during this event. Opportunities include: baking
cookies, making “Welcome to Dothan” cards,
making toiletry bags, donating jackets and jeans,
preparing lunches, and volunteering at the Baby
Comfort Station. For more information call the
CBA Office. More information is included in this
packet.
Baptist World Day of Prayer is Monday, November
3. Women gather on this day to pray for the needs
of Baptist sisters around the world. Consider
hosting a prayer meeting at your church. The Bible
study materials, prayer guides, posters and other
materials can be found on www.bwawd.org. I’ve
included a copy of the Study in this packet to use
with your ladies. With the Peanut Festival in full
swing during this week I know it’s hard to imagine
planning a prayer meeting on this day, but it will
be truly meaningful for those who commit to pray.
