Jamie M. Abbgy, Esq.
Principal
Jamie is a magna cum laude graduate of The Valparaiso University School
of Law ’00, and a graduate of Vanderbilt University ’89 with a BS in Human
Development, where he was the starting first baseman on the baseball
team. He is a member of the Michigan Bar and Indiana Bar, and has
experience in every area of wireless site development including project
director/manager, zoning, leasing, and candidate selection. As an attorney,
he understands and is careful to protect the interests of SMJ International’s
clients, while balancing that with the client’s desire to get the deal done. He
has successfully directed site development projects for all of the major
carriers including Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, as well as all of the
major tower companies in the US. He has also worked in Canada on
significant wireless site development projects in the Province of Ontario.
Lee Burlison
Principal
Lee is a graduate of Central Michigan University. He began his real estate
career thereafter working as a leasing and right –of- way agent for several
energy and communication development firms in the Midwest. Lee is a past
owner/partner of several real estate development firms specializing in
commercial and industrial properties. He has also served as a senior
executive within the telecommunication industry directing projects
throughout the US and serving in varying business development roles. He
is a past municipal mayor, chairperson of a local planning/zoning
commission, past member of Michigan Municipal League, Michigan Mayors
Association, EDC, and DDA. His years of experience in real estate, zoning,
and the political arena provide our clients with the requisite information in
their respective projects. Lee is an managing partner in SMJ International
LLC, LAB Architects LLC, Structural Engineering Solutions LLC, and
Atomic LLC.
Erik P. Neitzel, IEEE WCP
Principal
Erik has extensive lifecycle experience in mobile wireless networks, most
recently as VP of Regional Deployment for Mobilitie LLC. Erik spent 15
years at U.S. Cellular as Director of Systems Planning and
Implementation/Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and Network
Architect, where he served as the company’s subject matter expert for
Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture and technology. During his
tenure, he spearheaded teams responsible for executing all major
engineering technology initiatives from research and development to
systems implementation and operationalization, including next-generation
wireless network upgrades and deployments (LTE, heterogeneous
networks, SON), billing systems integration and release development
testing, and mobile core network infrastructure and application servers
(VoLTE/RCS, IP-VM, 4G roaming), translating strategic business objectives
into final design and network implementation. He holds a M.S. in
Information Technology from Northwestern University and a B.S. from
Regents College, and has been an IEEE Member since 2003. Erik is a
veteran of the U.S. Navy and holds a patent in wireless
telecommunications.
