Audience Research Questionnaire for Film Opening

I asked this question so I could find out what gender my audience would be targeted at. From the results, I know that the audience for my film will be mainly males, however it can be targeted at both genders, which is good because it will please more people.

I asked this question similarly so I could find out what age my audience would be targeted at. The results show that ages 16-20 are most popular, which matches my film as I was thinking to include teen actors in my film, my protagonist is 18 years old. Therefore, this age range will be the targeted audience to my film. However, I did get some people who answered 21-30, so my film could be interesting to this age range too.

I asked this question just to see what my audience’s favourite genre was, so I know what they are interested in. The drama genre was the most popular which I was hoping for as my film is a Music-Drama sub-genre, so it’s helpful to know that my audience like this genre.

I asked this question to see what my audience’s favourite sub-genre of the drama genre specifically. The results show that Melodrama is the most popular, which is good because my film is about a character’s journey. Also, people liked the teen drama sub-genre, so I will include teen actors in my films so that it appeals to this part of the audience. Also, my film is specifically a music-drama, so it is good that part of my audience likes this sub-genre.

The purpose for this question was to see firstly if the audience were into the sort of music the film was about, and secondly what their favourite band was out of the following so I could see which one to include the most. From the results, most of my audience do like this music and their favourite overall was both Metallica and AC/DC, which means that I will include music mostly from these bands in my film and use Metallica music in my opening.

Lastly, I asked this question to see what makes them want to watch a drama film in the first place, so that I could introduce these things into my film opening. The results show that most people watch a drama film because of the storyline/plot and because of the main actor/actress. This means that in my film opening I will show my main protagonist to introduce the actor and also hint at the storyline so that my audience will want to watch on.
