Healthy Dating Youth Summit Teens selected from twelve Milwaukee high schools will be
participating in workshops aiming to eliminate teen dating violence
and build healthy relationships among youth in Milwaukee through
education and peer-to-peer conversations. As a participant in the
Faith-Based Organization of Milwaukee Police District 4, our
tri-parish Human Concerns Committee is requesting donations of
snacks for two sessions on April 14 and April 28 for 140 teen
participants. Please consider a donation of individual packs of chips,
pretzels, popcorn, fruit snacks, or granola. Full-sized bags or home-
baked cookies would also be appreciated. Mark your donation for the
dating summit and place it in the Rest-A-While bench by April 10.
Thank you for supporting your Human Concerns Committee. Sponsored by the Sojourner Family Peace Center

The figures for the weekly contributions were not available at time of publication.
In the second reading today, St. Paul reminds the
Colossians that they have been raised with Christ,
exhorting them to “think about the things above rather
than things of earth.” We, too, have been raised with
Christ. Let us rejoice and be glad! See Colossians 3:2
Road trip! On Sunday, April 10, we will be taking a road trip to
Old St. Pat’s church in Chicago. Old St. Pat’s is one of
the most vibrant, active Catholic communities in the
country, and we would like to invite members of our
faith community to join in this trip so that we can
bring back some new ideas for our own parish
community. We will be leaving the parking lot of
St. Bernadette at approximately 2:00PM. We will
meet with some of the staff members of Old St. Pat’s
at about 4:00, then we will attend their 5:00 Mass,
followed by dinner in Chicago. We will be back at
St. Bernadette by approximately 10:00PM. If you are
interested in joining us, please contact Valerie
Adamski at [email protected] or 414-358-4600,
ext. 148. Transportation will be provided.

Easter 2016
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Alleluia! Here we are again, celebrating another blessed Lenten Season and Easter, together. Being here with you is truly my honor. As we pray, fast and give alms, we are reminded that we are one body in Christ. Together, we celebrated Paczki Day or Fat Tuesday, delighting in sweet treats before starting our Lenten journeys. On Ash Wednesday, we asked our bosses if we could adjust our workdays, so we could celebrate Mass and receive our ashes. We promised ourselves and God that we would do more of some things, or less of others, in an effort to be more like Christ. While some of us have thrived, some of us have fallen short of our goals, and we feel as if we have failed. Then, we remember that because of Christ, we have another chance. We have the sacrament of reconciliation – experiencing God’s forgiveness. He died and rose to give us life. In His Resurrection, we are offered an opportunity to rise with Him and begin anew. This year, I’m reflecting on the ninth chapter of Matthew, where Jesus performed miracles and gave second chances to those who believed. From the paralytic, to the official’s daughter, to the blind men, they were all graced with fresh starts and new opportunities. They were given chances to live again. Right now, we have the opportunity to rise and walk with Jesus. While we may fall down, we are elevated daily, through God’s Grace. We are ignited with the joy that as believers, we can overcome our challenges. We are renewed with the idea of enjoying new life, here on earth. We are energized as we anticipate our new lives in heaven. May the God of second chances bring you joy, peace and comfort, throughout this special time, and for the rest of your days.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki
Archbishop of Milwaukee
