Traveling to BaliIdeally, you will fl y directly into Denpasar (DPS) Airport (also known as Ngurah Rai Airport) on Bali. Several airlines fl y into Denpasar, so this is usually easy to do. Using an online discount travel portal or a travel agent can also be helpful. Borneo International (www.borneousa.com) provides knowledgeable service and good rates for those traveling from North America:

Hotel Transportation

If you are arriving within a few days of the start of training, we will arrange your pickup and transportation to Puri Bagus Resort in the town of Candidasa. We’ll provide you with your pickup details a few weeks before your training begins.

If you arrive before the training starts, you can easily fi nd a taxi at the airport. Transport is approximately 400,000 rupiah (about $40 USD) and most drivers are familiar with the Resort and its location. It is recommended that you take a “blue” taxi instead of a “white” taxi, as drivers of blue taxis are considered to be more courteous and reliable.

Money & Visas

Visas

Upon arrival in Denpasar, Indonesia, you will receive a visa-upon-arrival in Immigration, which is good for 30 days from your arrival. You will then clear Customs. If you need a Visa for a longer stay, please see Indonesian Visa requirements online. A departure tax of 150,000 rupiah (about $15 USD) per person traveling is assessed at the airport.

Exchange Rates

The Balinese currency is the Indonesian rupiah. Exchange rates are always fl uctuating. You can check exchange rates online for the most current rate at www.xe.com.

We recommend not using the airport facilities to exchange money. It is best to exchange your money once you are in the town of Candidasa, either at an ATM (there are a few in town) or at the Post Offi ce. These will provide you with the best rates. Please alert your bank that you will be traveling abroad to avoid fraud protection action on your credit cards!

If you bring US dollars, be sure they are in good condition. Traveler’s checks can be exchanged; however it is usually at a lower rate.

Approximate rates are:

• 1 US Dollars = 10,000 rupiah• 1 Euro = 15,000 rupiah• 1 Australian dollar = 8,000 rupiah• 1 Canadian dollar = 9,000 rupiah• 1 Swiss Franc = 10,000 rupiah

Other ServicesOnce you arrive at Puri Bagus Resort, your training is mostly all-inclusive. All your meals will be coverd except for dinners, and some of those will be covered as well. We arranged this less structured approach to meals to allow you to enjoy most of your evenings as “your time, your way”. You can explore the town, use the time for quiet reflection, or just relax and be.

Dinners at the Resort and in town average around $5.00 USD. You also receive a 15% discount on all food and drink at the resort. Each Friday night we also have a festive dinner to celebrate completing a week of training. These celebratory dinners are included in your tuition package.

You may want to consider bringing extra money for things such as exploring Bali, getting bodywork treatments at the Puri Bagus Resort spa, and getting private training sessions with your YTT staff.

Private yoga sessions with your teachers cost approximately $95 USD per 60 minute session. Healing sessions with your Anatomy and Physiology faculty are also $95 USD per 60 minute session. Please see the Puri Bagus Candidasa Resort website to explore all resort facilities and offerings.

Please budget a gratuity at the end of your stay of about 150,000 – 200,000 rupiah or $15 to $20 USD, depending on your personal experience and budget.

Staying ConnectedBeing in Bali for three weeks is the perfect setting to to take a technology “detox”… and we also understand that connecting with family and friends is very important. Your cell phone service provider can help you understand how your phone will work in Indonesia. Some phones require an additional SIM card to allow your current phone to operate. You can also purchase a cheap cell phone upon

arrival for approximately $40 USD.

WiFi is available in the Puri Bagus Resort restaurant and bar. It is also available in cafes in the town of Candidasa. Internet can be unpredictable at times.

During the training, we will observe noble silence upon waking and until the morning asana practice is completed at 9:45 am. We ask that you avoid using technology during this time, and that if you must use it, that you do it discreetly so as not to disturb others.

Program Start and EndWe start at 1 pm on Sunday, November 25th and finish on Sunday, December 16th at 10 am. Each day you will awaken around 6 am and your day will be finished by 6 pm, unless there are group activities in the evenings. Many of your evenings will be free to enjoy for yourself. You will have some afternoons and full days free during your training. You will be provided a specific schedule upon arrival.

Please let us know if you have any questions!
