Discuss the religious make up of the colonies.

Social Structure of the 13 colonies
Students will discuss and identify reasons for the religious diversity of the Middle Colonies compared to the religious homogeneity of New England and the South by analyzing the Maryland Religious History time line and the religious census

Students will describe the religious diversity of the Middle Colonies
Handout decades charts and war chart for binders

Read American Pageant Chapter 3 and 4
Read the sections about the Great Awakening/Enlightenment pgs. 98-100 and utilize online sources to complete either the Great Awakening section or the Enlightenment section.
Homework
Students will debate the impact of the Great Awakening and the Enlightenment and decide which event had more of an impact.
