• Compare Banner Custom Reports to Banner Oracle Reports in Production!

TIMELINE

• End user training with train the trainer approach April 2019

• This week we are transitioning to production reports and testing them

• Anticipated Go-Live beginning in first full week of May 2019

THIS WEEK WE ARE COMPARING REPORTS IN PRODUCTION• Some of your reports that perform actions such as interfaces will need to be run only

when you are ready to run them for real

• As before we will have to use 2 different browsers for this testing

• Oracle Reports only run in Internet Explorer

• Custom Banner Reports only run in Chrome

• You may choose to open both IE and Chrome simultaneously and run the reports side by side or run the reports in one browser first and then the other

as shown below.

CLICK THE CORRECT DEPARTMENT

FIND THE REPORT – SZRCHKL EXAMPLE (REPLACE)

ENTER PARAMETERS AND CLICK VIEW REPORT ON THE RIGHT - BE SURE TO ENTER THE SAME PARAMETERS AS BEFORE

AFTER LOADING DATA THE REPORT APPEARS

SAVE REPORT AS PDF IF YOU LIKE TO COMPARE

OR PRINT AS A PDF

PDF PRINTING

WHETHER YOU PRINT OR SAVE, COMPARE THE RESULTS

HOMEWORK

• I will send each of you an email with an excel sheet to be used to record your testing.

• IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that you run your top ten reports in both Custom Banner Reports and Banner Oracle Reports in PRODUCTION and compare the results.

• After testing your reports, please fill out the excel sheet I provide, print it, then sign it and send it back to me as a scanned pdf.

• When you run your reports be aware that your are in production and the data should be current.

• There are a few of your top ten reports that trigger other processes. When I send your homework I will tell you not to run those at this time.
