1 Business Scenario
The production supply process with JIT Supply to Production (S2P) and embedded EWM is designed for the
Automotive Industry.
The focus of the document is on the new settings in S/4HANA JIT Supply to Production and embedded EWM for
the processing of JIT calls. In general, already existing functionalities of EWM are not part of this guide.
This guide introduces the newly available customizing tables and master data. It’s a basic setup to be able to
create JIT calls for replenishment with EWM stock transfer for JIT call. The configuration guide uses the
developments available with release S/4HANA 2020. The process is restricted to EWM embedded in S/4HANA.
2 Prerequisites
JIT Supply to Production includes the stock transfer for JIT call as replenishment to production supply areas
(PSAs) within the same EWM warehouse number. You can use one or multiple storage locations, however, they
must be assigned to the same EWM warehouse number. The process is released for EWM embedded in
S/4HANA. The JIT calls to be handled with the described new functionality must be managed by an EWM storage
location. EWM is deployed as an embedded EWM as part of S/4 HANA on premise (OP).
This document focuses on the settings required for the integration of next generation supply to production JIT
calls as a warehouse request into EWM. It does not cover already existing EWM functionalities like stock
determination or picking. As a result, the document can be considered as an additional source of information to
the existing configuration guide “HTG_Distribution Equipment_OfficialRelease_V1.0.pdf” available in the SAP
community wiki.

Define Number Range for Control Cycle
1. Go to the following customizing settings:
IMG Menu Logistics Execution → Just-in-Time Processing (Next Generation) → JIT Supply to Production → Define Number Range for Control Cycle
Transaction code SPRO
2. Check if there is a number range already maintained and if not maintain for example the number range:
Number Range No. From Number To Number
01 00000000001 99999999999
Define Stock Transfer Strategies
1. Go to the following customizing settings:
IMG Menu Logistics Execution → Just-in-Time Processing (Next Generation) → JIT Supply to Production → Replenishment Strategies → Define Stock Transfer Strategies
Transaction code SPRO
2. Maintain a replenishment strategy for the EWM to EWM scenario (Attention IM to EWM / EWM to IM differs), for example:

Maintain Action Control
1. The action control is maintained only within client 000. If you are using another client copy the specific customizing nodes to the specific testing client ##.
- Define External Status and Internal Processing Status (JIT) (path in SPRO: Logistics Execution --> Just-In-Time Processing (Next Generation) --> Action Control)
- Define JIT Actions (path in SPRO: Logistics Execution --> Just-In-Time Processing (Next Generation) --> Action Control)
- Define JIT Action Control (path in SPRO: Logistics Execution --> Just-In-Time Processing (Next Generation) --> Action Control)
The result within client ## is expected as followed (e.g. Release 2020 FPS00):
Be aware that the actions, status, action control, etc. will be extended from release to release because of further functions. The screenshots below are only related to release 2020 FPS0 and can differ with future releases. It’s not a workaround to maintain these entries manually.
2. Go to the following customizing settings and check if the status is maintained:
IMG Menu Logistics Execution → Just-in-Time Processing (Next Generation) → Action Control → Define External Status and Internal Processing Status (JIT)
Transaction code SPRO
3. Go to the following customizing settings and check if the actions are maintained:

b. Sometimes also the problem is the app Index Calc report /UI5/APP_INDEX_CALCULATE. This is sometimes not running and needs to be scheduled again
2. You run into an error during JIT call creation that refers to AIF like the message “Error while retrieving AIF value mapping data”?
a. Run /AIF/CONTENT_EXTRACT
b. Provide deployment scenario as SAP_AIF_0039 and Execute
3. Usage of Wave Management in combination with JIT calls
The usage of wave management is possible in combination with JIT EWM processing. As in the goods issue process, a wave determination procedure must be maintained.
Transaction Code SPRO
IMG Menu • SCM Extended Warehouse Management → Extended Warehouse Management → Goods Issue Process → Wave Management → Wave Template Determination → Assign Procedure to Document Type
There is no standard condition table delivered, which includes all fields from JIT call. Therefore, in most cases a customer specific wave determination condition table needs to be maintained.
4. Warehouse task could be not created for JIT call
This guide only describes the new settings, which are necessary to run JIT-EWM process. Basic setup like stock removal rules, storage type search sequences, storage type definitions and stock upload are not part of this guide.
5. Usage of distribution equipment in combination with JIT-EWM
The setup of the distribution equipment is described in a separate guide. But in general, a combination of JIT and distribution equipment is possible.
