What is Delta Foamcon?Delta Foamcon is produced by entrapping a multitude of small air bubbles into a cement mortar mixture. This is obtained by injecting a foaming agent into Delta Foam Generator (Delta Foamgen) to produce foam-ing. Advanced research has been carried out in deter-mining the best water/cement ratios and water/Delta Foaming Agent ratios for the production of foaming which will produce a minimum shrinkage and maxi-mum strength.Variations in the proportions of mix design will produce Delta Foamcon with density range from 400 kg to 1,800 kg per cubic metre.

Fire Resistance Delta Foam Concrete is intensely fire resistant and under concentrated heating conditions, such as a torch held closed to the surface, it will not explode as does normal dense concrete. The result of this effect is that reinforced steel remains cool and protected for a much longer period.The 150 mm of Delta foam concrete is adequate for a 4 hour fire rating on non load bearing walls.

High Insulation & Low Thermal ConductivityWith the promotion of energy conservation in building, Delta Foamcon has become one of the most interest-ing materials in the insulation field. The high insulating value of the material becomes important as expensive energy is saved by cutting both heating and air condi-oning requirements, giving greater comfort in a wide range of climatic conditions. When fully cured, Delta foamcon can easily with-stands temperature variances of 45 degrees Celcius.

Acoustic PerformanceThe sound absorption capacity of Delta Foam Con-crete is much better than normal dense concrete or masonry.

Water AbsorptionAs all concrete products, water is absorbed under saturation conditions. For Delta Foamcon, the amount of water absorption is related to density. It is advisable to protect external walls with an applied Deltamix Skim Coating to prevent the ingress of moisture.

ShrinkageBecause of the high water content of the Delta Foam-con mixture, shrinkage will occur. This varies with density and can be minimized with use of the water reducer admixtures.

Dense Weight Concrete & Delta FoamingThe addition of up to 10% of Delta Foaming into a normal dense weight concrete mix has the effect of:- Reducing the density- Reducing the cost- Increasing the slump, so that the water/cement ratio can be reduced- Eliminating the bleed water.- Increasing the pumpability- Allow early trowelling of the surface- Improving the resistance to freeze-thaw attrition.
