  • On behalf of the Bayswater City Soccer Club I would like to welcome the President, Board, Committee, Coaching Staff, Players and Members from ECU Joondalup here to our home at Frank Drago.

It definitely has been a little ‘strange’ season, especially with us having a mid week game. Putting aside the ‘strange’ feeling the need to fight hard for those 3 points has not altered, that is for sure! Our Senior Coaching Staff and Players did not stop working via technology in keeping our teams fit and strong, which is not easy, it is very hard to maintain team spirit when you can’t even be next to another team member. The entire Senior cohort coped really well and I applaud how well they adapted and how well the Coaching Staff accommodated to be within the strict guidelines. In saying that, how FANTASTIC is it to be back to normal???

Please enjoy your time with us today.

  • Hi and a warm welcome to all associated with ECU Joondalup. We wish you all the best over two fantastic nights of football with both clubs always looking to play a good style of football.

The last 2 weeks after the Sorrento game have been a vast improvement from the boys and I have been extremely proud of their reaction as a group. Actions speak louder than words and the way that the have stood up as a group has been excellent. I though that against Glory we set up very well and had the discipline as a group of players to keep to our plan. We should have been 2 or 3 up in the first half but credit to Glory they came at us and we dug in to get the result.

The opposite happened against Armadale where I thought we started sloppy and were very lucky to go in 1-0 up at half time. The second half though when we came out and started playing the way we want to play was excellent. Although we went done to 9 men the boys again kept their shape and defended very well. Sometimes those hard fought games stand you in better stead moving forward. I would like to congratulate Dean Kezurer and Jake Melia for their first team debuts on Saturday which was pleasing with the young lads joining Paddy Stephenson in the team. They have been at the club for a number of years now and we are starting to see the young ones coming through the ranks.

    Cheers

  • Hello to all the staff and members of ECU Joondalup.

Saturday saw us go to bottom of the league Armadale. A place where we always seem to struggle to play our game and a place where you have to roll your sleeves up to get anything. Credit to the lads who gave everything and dominated the match from start to finish. A real 90 minute performance.

We set up with a new formation for this match and from the very first minute the lads seemed to understand what was required both with and without the ball. To be that switched on tacti-cally with only very minimal time to work on these things does show how bright the group is as whole.

Only goal of the game came from Dan Harrison who has been deadly this year from set plays. Anything close to the area and we are a real threat. To be fair this one got a rather large deflec-tion but I’m sure he’s claiming it as his own.

On the day our wing backs Gio and Michael Lino were superb and gave us the energy we requested from them and all four subs that got on made a huge impact on the game.

ECU gave us a lesson pre season beating us 5-0 at their ground. So, I’m sure I won’t need to remind the boys this will be a real challenge. I’m sure we’ll be up for revenge this evening.

If we can maintain the same energy as the Glory and Armadale games I’m sure we’ll see a positive result tonight.

    Cheers

A warm welcome to everyone associated with Bayswater City Soccer Club and today’s opponents ECU

Last two games and another 4 points which we deserved. Our game against Glory was our best performance of the year and I was very proud of my players!

Two good teams were on display on the day and our goal coming from our inform Striker Will Gallagher coupled with a best on ground performance from Lucas Cook.

The Armadale game was another top performance form the lads , despite having only won 1-0the score line made it look like a close game.

The game initially was one of many missed opportunities to capitalise by our lads and it seemed like it was going to be one of those days where we

had all the play but couldn’t finish the job. But in the final moments of the game up popped Ayok with a superbly taken goal to give us a well deserved win.

    Best on Ground Lucas Cook

Good Luck to Alun and Chris and all three teams
