Kedron Brook Catchment overview

Kedron Brook's headwaters begin in Brisbane Forest Park in thewest, and flows east through the northern suburbs of Brisbane. Thewaterway flows past the airport via Schultz Canal and the KedronBrook Floodway to enter Moreton Bay between Nudgee Beach andEagle Farm.

Although the majority of the catchment is urban residential land,there are significant bushland and wetland areas, as well as smallpockets of industrial and agricultural area. Kedron Brook hassignificant amounts of parkland along the Brook with the KedronBrook Bikeway following the majority of the Brook's length.

Here are some initiatives that are happening in this catchmentto assist Council in achieving a Well designed city, Healthyriver and bay and Sustainable water use:

The Local Waterway Health Assessment (LWHA) program hasbeen gathering data on the Ecological Health of Brisbane’s localwaterways since January 2006. The LWHA program collects dataaround water quality, in-stream health and creek corridor health.The data is collected at 48 sites around the site.
