Dear Members, Ambassadors, Stallholders, Volunteers, Sponsors, Donors and Partners,
2013 has been a very active and successful year for the International Women’s Club - Sofia and especially for the 19th Annual Charity Bazaar. Thanks to all our efforts and, despite the difficult economic conditions, the Bazaar was again a considerable success. From May to December the representatives from various countries around the world put in enormous effort and enthusiasm into organising one of the major charity events that takes place in Bulgaria and has a huge impact within the community.
The IWC Charity Bazaar 2013 had 62 stalls in total of which 42 represented 48 nationalities and countries; 10 were IWC stalls, i.e. they were run by the IWC itself and 12 were Charity stalls. The Bazaar also had two kids corners, where the little ones were well looked after.
The grand total of all collected funds during the 2013 IWC Charity Bazaar was 312, 078.69 BGN according to financial data by 17th January 2014. This figure includes monies raised at the day of the Bazaar by all participating stalls, income from ticket sales as well as donations from commercial and private sponsors transferred directly to the IWC account.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Please find below the totals as of 31st January 2014. We are still awaiting donations of up to approximately 4,000 bgn.
What an amazing result!!! Without your support, generosity and dedication towards the Bazaar, these results would not be possible.
I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all who assisted me on the day – the amazing Treasury team, the Stallholders and my colleagues on the Board. Teamwork at it’s best.
All the very best for 2014.

We fund projects that provide support for:
• Emergency Level Assistance • Support to the Disabled • Social Integration of orphan teenagers • Equal Access to Education and Educational & Training Programs • Women’s issues
In 2014 the International Women’s Club - Sofia has plans to support, through funding, the following projects:
1. The Soup Kitchen Project in cooperation with BNP Paribas bank and Sofia Municipality. The main focus of this project is to provide a warm lunch for over 1,700 people in need during the cold months - from early December to late March.
2. Scholarship Project in cooperation with Bulgarian Charity Aid Foundation. Through this project, young people without parents who have excellent results at school or university receive funding, thanks to which they are able to meet their specific personal needs and buy school supplies.
3. Baba project in cooperation with several non-profit organizations or social institutions. This project is one of long standing that the club funded and so far has shown high efficiency in terms of the personal care of children with severe disabilities in institutions.
4. Social Integration for Children and Teens from Institutions - IWC Sofia understands and supports the need for adequate care and integration into society of children leaving social institutions. Thanks to these projects, the children were able to successfully adapt to the new environment and to fulfill their potential.
5. IWC-Sofia has plans to continue funding a project aimed at early prevention of breast cancer through free medical examinations of women in small and isolated areas of Bulgaria with lack of local medical services of this kind. Thanks to IWC – Sofia’s financial support in 2012 and 2013 about 1200 women were given the opportunity to receive free examinations. Several women from different locations were diagnosed with the early stages of the disease and were referred for further investigation to a specialised medical unit in Sofia.
6. In the past year the Charity Foundation of IWC-Sofia has worked successfully on a series of campaigns to help people with disabilities in cooperation with the “Light for Life” Foundation. This gave us the confidence to continue our partnership in 2014 and to support the project that helps disabled people and their families through rehabilitation and other activities.
7. IWC –Sofia has plans to continue to support several projects for Summer camps for children in need. These camps allow children from poor families or institutions to have the opportunity for a memorable summer with their peers, something that without our help would not be possible.
The Charity Foundation of the International Women Club - Sofia ensures 100% transparency in the selection and funding process of the projects. For more information, please contact us on: [email protected]

“Dear partners,
On the behalf of our foundation I would like to extremely thank you for humanitarian aid that we have received as a donation - food and hygiene materials. The donation was distributed among thirty people with permanent physical disabilities. The joy and gratitude of the recipients was huge.
The team of the “Light for Life” is glad of the opportunity through your outstretched hand to meet the needs of disadvantaged families with people with disabilities.
Your support brings hope and faith to these families in need.
I would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for the constant partnership and support received from Charity Foundation of International Women’s Club - Sofia!”

“Dear International Women’s Club,
Thanks to you, we were able to support 5 teenagers for the Born To Fly camp. These young people were able to be put in an environment where they felt supported and special. The friendships they have built at this camp will be with them for a life-time.
Thank you for your recent generous gift of 1,200 BGN to International Needs Bulgaria. Your willingness to help financially poor teenagers who come from difficult backgrounds makes all the difference in the lives of these 5 teenagers.
Our Born to Fly camp is an important part of our year-round programs. We work with children from 10 to 18 years of age from all over the country of Bulgaria. We emphasize on discovering and drawing out the gifts and talents in every teen, and then use their creativity to expand those talents. Our focus is on creative arts and leadership. Workshops are led by well-known professionals in the fields of music, drama, dance, and painting.
Estir just started her 12th grade year. The youngest of 4 siblings, her father left their mother soon after she was born. Her mother makes just enough to make ends meet. She naturally has an amazing voice and it was such a great opportunity to see her develop this talent at the camp.
Desi and Jorko are siblings from the town of Plovdiv. Their father has passed away leaving it very difficult for their mother to afford any special summer activities.
Simona and Jordanka are two friends whose father’s are both in prison. If not for your gift these girls would not be able to make new friends and be surrounded by such a positive atmosphere.
I am always open for any questions you may have about our camp and other programs here at International Needs Bulgaria.
Thank you again for all that you have done for this summer’s born to fly camp.”
