The BCIT Alumni Association Scholarship and Bursary Endowed Fund, which provides bursaries, scholarships and awards to students, grew to $1,180,215.35 as of March 31, 2012. Since the Alumni Endowment was established, 669 students have received bursaries, scholarships, graduating awards, and entrance awards valued at $673,984.

Student awards disbursed on behalf of the BCIT Alumni Association in 2011–2012:

29 alumni awards totalling $49,890 were disbursed this fiscal as follows:

JUNE 2011Five $608 graduation awards totalling $3,040 (Schools of Business, Computing and Academic Studies, Construction and the Environment, Energy, and Health Sciences).

SEPTEMBER 2011Outstanding Student Leadership Award $5,408

OCTOBER 2011Eleven $3,000 entrance awards totalling $33,000 (Schools of Construction and the Environment, Health Sciences, and Business).

NOVEMBER 2011Five $607 first year awards totalling $3,035 (Schools of Construction and the Environment, Computing and Academic Studies, and Health Sciences).

MARCH 2012Seven bursaries totalling $5,407 (Schools of Business, Computing and Academic Studies, Construction and the Environment, and Health Sciences).

BCIT Alumni Association

Founded by graduates of the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1979, the BCIT Alumni Association is a registered, non-profit society governed by a board of volunteer directors and financed by Association affinity programs, sponsorship, and institute support. The Association has more than 145,000 members, of which approximately 125,991 are recorded and 84,971 are active on the database.

The BCIT Alumni Association is a thriving organization that inspires passion for the BCIT community, provides leadership with its connection to alumni and students and excels in offering valuable programs and services.
