I would like to congratulate all of the swimmers who represented the club at the NSW Short Course Age Championships at SOPAC last month. All swimmers represented the club with such pride and determination. The results from each of them were fantastic, so many PB’s, top 10 finishes and Matt winning a gold and 2 bronze that we are all thrilled with your results.

Congratulations to all our swimmers who attended the NSW State Short Course Championships in August. The numerous PB’s from the swimmers was massive. We are very proud of their efforts and results.
As you can see and know by the numerous disruptions to their preparation for such a large meet, we are extremely thrilled with these results and can’t wait to see how we prosper under our new coaches over the summer period.

out of action for 2 weeks.
TIM’S DOuBLE ScOOP Congratulations to Tim Hodge who has not only been selected in the 2014/15 NSW Multi Class Development Squad, but has also been selected in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Development Squad by Swimming Aust. Tim’s selection is based on his performances at the recent 2014 National Championships where he came away with one gold, 3 silver & 4 bronze medals in the 13-15 years age bracket. There are only 20 swimmers to make the Australian squad of which Tim is the youngest male at 13yrs of age. In the past this squad has proven to be the springboard for a number of swimmers who have gone on to be selected for the Paralympics, Commonwealth Games & Para Pan Pacs Teams.
In September Tim has been invited by Swimming Australia to spend a week at the AIS High Performance National Training Centre in Canberra training with the Head Paralympic Performance Coach Mr Yuriy
Vdovychenko. This will be Tim’s 2nd camp with Yuriy having trained with him at the same facility last year as part of the Rio Paralympic Development Squad.
This follows Tim’s International Classification as an S9 swimmer through Swimming Australia earlier this year which will allow him to compete on the International stage & sees him now listed on the IPC (International Paralympic Committee) World S wimming Rankings http://www.paralympic.org/world-rankings/swimming in the S9 category.
To-date Tim has broken 20 National Records in the 13 years & Under S9 category & is awaiting confirmation of another 6. Some of these records had sat untouched by Paralympian Matthew Cowdrey for the last 12 years. Well done Tim.
Tim with all his medals from the 2014 National Championships
