6. Playing the Game The Commands
6.1 Serving
You can choose 3 types of serve:
normal
jump
underarm
Press on the key that corresponds to your choice of serve. Thelonger you hold down the key, the harder your serve (but take care if its too hard it will go straight into the net!). Use the directionalkeys to direct your serve.
6.2 Receiving
To receive an opponents smash or pass, use your directional keysto position your player under the ball (without being too precise,
because youll end up being too late), then press on button 1 (Shiftright) to parry the ball, keeping the button down throughout thetime it takes to parry the ball. The most important thing toremember is that you dont need to be positioned at the precisespot where the ball lands. Youre better off reacting quickly thantrying to get to just the right spot and getting there too late.
6.3 Passing
To pass the ball, press on the key corresponding to the type of passyou wish to make. The longer you press, the stronger the pass in
other words the ball goes faster and further.
Use the directional keys to direct the pass
6.4 The Smash
To smash the ball, press on the key corresponding to the type ofsmash you wish to make. The longer you press, the stronger thesmash in other words the ball goes faster and straighter.
Use the directional keys to direct the smash. The smash is a longmovement broken down into the leap, the hanging in the air with

arm outstretched and the smash. As a result, you must press downthe key before the ball arrives. If you are too late, the smashbecomes impossible and your player sends the ball back over thenet as a pass.
Dont forget to make use of the tactical smash, whereby yourplayer gives the ball a dipping trajectory, making your opponentsattempts to block the ball more difficult (the downside to this shot
is that it has a longer trajectory and gives your opponents team-mates more time to get to the ball).
6.5 Blocking
Stand next to the net and press the block key at the right moment. You can also ask your player to perform a sideways blocking move-ment by pressing on the / keys during the block.
