High-Definition Printing.

Print is essentially millions of dots of ink.

Put simply, the smaller the dots are and the more

densely they are packed into a given area; the finer

the print quality.

In commercial lithographic printing, this

resolution is measured in Lines Per Inch (LPI)

which specifically measures how close together

the lines in a halftone grid are. Higher resolution

(LPI) gives greater detail and sharpness, printing

smaller dots of ink. This is where we particularly

excel in print management.

“I have worked with mecs continuously for a number of years now; working to create the printed product leaflets and company stationery we needed initially, since Saxo Bank first established at DIFC.

Our requirements soon expanded to exhibition material and designing newspaper ads that we placed in The Sunday Times. These included designing Arabic versions for the Middle East market, adapting international advertisements the company uses in Europe.

It is very important for us to comply with the brand guidelines set out by our Head Office in Denmark, and mecs are always very proactive in working with the compliance department in Copenhagen to gain their approval – sometimes even taking up issues with them directly on behalf of the Dubai branch.

incorporating local materials from the region. Next

to the main dining area, you will find the lounge

river. Adjacent to this are the sundeck & infinity

The suites are spread out along the river to ensure

privacy and exclusivity. Each suite consists of

a luxury air-conditioned bedroom and a lounge

with private outdoor verandah offering an outdoor

shower and an intimate plunge pool.

The lodge also has a full aromatherapy Spa offering

a range of facilities. The lodge offers a variety of

activities including boat adventures, exclusive

guided walks, wilderness picnics, private game

drives & sundowner river adventures.

Five Star Luxury Promoting a luxury hospitality brand requires a brochure that reflects

the same values of care and attention to detail. For African hotel group

Malala Luxury Lodges, this meant printing brochures internationally.

At two exclusive destinations; Mivumo River Lodge and the Selous

Wildlife Lodge, Malala aim to create a unique and personal safari

experience for each and every guest. With the content and design

already prepared, the company approached mecs to manage printing

and finishing to the highest possible standard.

The result is a tasteful 16 page brochure showcasing both lodges,

highlighted by 300LPI printing with accents of metallic gold ink and

spot UV varnish and a textured cover.

International RetailFollowing successful moves into territories outside the

GCC, M.H.Alshaya wanted to create a Corporate Profile

that would emphasise their position as the Middle East’s

leading retailer and further promote their business to

potential partners. The turnkey project included all

the required location photography and art direction,

copywriting, graphic design and print management in its

scope of work.

We designed a 30-page brochure, with sections covering;

The Company, Growth, Locations, Sectors & Brands,

People and Infrastructure. High resolution images came

from photographic shoots we conducted at retail outlets

and restaurants in Salmiya’s Marina Mall and selected

locations in Kuwait. Photography took place within

normal working hours and was kept as inconspicuous as

possible, capturing everyday business as it happened.

The metallic silver cover also

features a die-cut and pasted

pocket inside the back; we used

this to carry two A4 factsheets

listing Alshaya’s Brands and

locations.

We are particularly proud to

work with M.H.Alshaya, having

been awarded the job despite

competition from two of the

largest ad agencies in the Arabian

Gulf, both of which are owned by

the Alshaya group.

Using only the finest ingredients, Cuisine Royale has

developed a delicious range of premium European

bakery products that includes artisan and traditional

breads, muffins, donuts, cookies, brownies and

pastries. This upmarket offering retails at supermarkets

and outlets throughout the Arabian Gulf, requiring

high quality bespoke packaging to match.

Working from distinctively branded black and

magenta artwork, we handle the manufacture of

packaging for Cuisine Royale’s range at regular

intervals - as and when required. At relatively short

notice, we produce waxed paper and cellophane

bags as well as cake box lining sheets - consistently

matching Cuisine Royale’s corporate colours and

premium standards. We also prepare all the export

documentation needed to keep their supply chain

moving in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

As a new business working to establish its brand,

Cuisine Royale requires a flexible and supportive print

supplier, ready to react to the constantly changing

demands of retail. Regular reprints keep packaging

stock levels and up-front costs to a minimum,

providing Cuisine Royale with a reliable platform to

build from.
