On Monday, 8th October 2012 we will be starting a new club in Portsmouth with the inaugural meeting of Spinnaker Speakers, at Sellers Coffee House (the former Wheelbarrow PH) on the corner of Kent Road and Castle Road, Southsea.
Doors open at 7:00 pm and the meeting will start at 7:30pm.
The meeting is open to all and there is no charge although memberships will be available on the night. Meetings will then take place on the 2nd and 4th Monday each month.
Spinnaker Speakers is a member of Toastmasters International, a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our global membership is 270,000 strong. These members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 13,000 clubs that make up our world-wide network of meeting locations. A normal meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.There is no instructor in a Spinnaker Speakers meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop leadership skills.
