BEGINNING IN 2006, REGIONAL “ANSAS” HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED IN AFRICA, EAST-ASIA PACIFIC, SOUTH ASIA AND RECENTLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. EACH OF THE REGIONAL ANSAS IS HOSTED BY A LOCAL INSTITUTION AND THE ANSA SECRETARIAT THAT ACTS AS THE HUB OF THE NETWORK. THE NETWORKS SERVE AS CLEARING HOUSES OF INFORMATION, FACILITATE KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE ON SOCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISMS AND TOOLS AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR CAPACITY BUILDING AND NETWORKING AMONGST PRACTITIONERS.
