59% of the total population is dutch speaking.

40% speak french and rest 1% are german

The French who were lesser in number in the country formed the majority in Brussels the capital city

The French society was comparatively richer and more prosperous.

There was a dispute as to the ownership of Brussels between the two communities

The Belgian constitution was amended and worked out such that all the communities get an equal share

Several amendments were made and a community government was formed in Brussels

These arrangements worked out well and prevented a possible division of the country on linguistic lines

country suffered a lot of loss

Belgium chose the peaceful way and was ready to compromise. This prevented a civil war

Belgians are leading a happy and prosperous life with just a few modulations

Sinhalese did not compromise and fought the result was a war on ethnic lines

Sril lankans destroyed their country’s backdrop and poverty has setteled
