Character Counts! Pillar of Trustworthiness

The CC! award recipient is Gabe. Congratulations to him, and for being a positive role model for others.

Students of the Week (SOTW) Clara, Gabe, Savannah, Caroline, and Mary have received this recognition during the months of February and March. They each display a positive attitude, and make every minute count.

AR Update

These students have successfully completed one or more AR tests this week (as of March 22): Santi, Finn, Gabe, Nevaeh, Sawyer, Dylan, Caroline, Ethan, Mabel, Mallory, Wilder, and Savannah.

Students meeting their personal AR goals by May 4 will be eligible to attend the Mark Alan Magic Show. Those reaching all four grading period goals are also eligible for Reading Splash.

Word Wizards-Number of words read: Finn (1,041,566); Gabe (717,050); Clara (668,427); Mabel (402,946); and Caroline (373,176).

Mrs. Yelvington and Mr. Shaw shared their life cycles science investigation with us. Our class viewed the eggs in the incubator, then saw them as they hatched on the first day of spring! The cute chicks captured our hearts. They now have a new home on a local farm.

Rising New York Road Runners (NYRR): Mighty Milers

Kaila and Dylan were acknowledged for their effort during Mighty Milers exercise time. The NYRR provided them with marathon medals.

Rechenka’s Eggs

The class listened to the Reading Rainbow book, Rechenka’s Eggs, by Patricia Polacco. We also watched Ms. Polacco demonstrate the art of creating Pysanky eggs. Students made their own version using white drawing paper, crayons, and concentrated liquid watercolors. The online version of the book can be found at S10E04 Reading Rainbow Rechenka's Eggs - YouTube .
