SPEAKERSFelicia is the regional actuary of MSIG Asia, based in Singapore.Prior to this, she worked in the analytics team in Aon Benfield Asiaand as a consultant in the general insurance actuarial department atErnst and Young, London. Felicia’s experience includes reserving,pricing and profitability analysis, reinsurance optimization,preparation of Financial Condition Report and risk managementsuch as stress testing, individual target capital level review andcapital modelling.Felicia is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK and a Fellowof the Singapore Actuarial Society.

William is Senior Vice President, ERM of MSIG Asia, based inSingapore. He has over 16 years of experience from working indifferent insurance markets around Asia-Pacific. His key focus is todevelop and implement best practice ERM framework in Asia withemphases on risk appetite, capital management, internal model andORSA process.William is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. In hisprevious position, William was the regional actuary of MSIG Asia.William earned his bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Studies atMacquarie University in Sydney, Australia and an MBA at theUniversity of Chicago Booth School of Business in Chicago, USA.When not working, William enjoys travelling and making a perfectcup of latte.

Ka Weng is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and hasover 10 years of experience in the general insurance industry.Ka Weng joined Tokio Marine Asia in November 2012. His currentrole focuses mainly on capital modelling and ERM for Tokio Marinegroup companies across the region.He is also the certifying actuary for Tokio Marine InsuranceSingapore and the assistant examiner for subject CA2.Prior to joining Tokio Marine Asia, Ka Weng worked in two actuarialconsulting firms where he was involved in appraisal valuations,reserving and stress testing for general insurers across countries inthe Asia-Pacific.

Core functions such as regulatory(reserving, stress tests, ICAAP & FCR) and pricing aside, otherresponsibilities include portfolio monitoring & analysis, involvementin business support & decisions as well as reinsurance optimizationand treaty renewal.Xiao Wei is the Appointed Actuary of with 10 years of experience inthe insurance industry. Shuhada graduated from the University ofMichigan (US) with a BSc Actuarial Mathematics and has 4 years ofexperience. Shin Li and Piyi both have 3 years of experience; Shin Liearned her Masters of Mathematics, Operational Research, Statisticsand Economics at the University of Warwick (UK) whereas Piyigraduated with a BSc Actuarial Science from the London School ofEconomics (UK).

Xiao Wei is the Appointed Actuary of Allianz General Malaysia.With 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, she hasfulfilled various areas of actuarial function including reserving,pricing, stress testing, ICAAP and reinsurance optimisation.Prior to this role, she served as the Strategy & PlanningManager which is responsible to cover financial budgeting &monitoring, strategic planning and capital management. XiaoWei earned a BSc Actuarial Science at the London School ofEconomics (UK) and a MSc Actuarial Management at the CassBusiness School (UK). SPEAKERSDr Frank Ashe has a consulting practice specialising in riskmanagement and investments. He is an Honorary Fellow at theMacquarie University Applied Finance Centre.Dr Ashe has worked in Australia, Canada and Asia withconsultancies, insurance companies, investment managementfirms, bond dealers, and financial software houses. His 30+ years ofpractical experience have been predominantly in the measurementand management of financial risk and return. Dr Ashe is a memberof the Australian Institute of Company Directors and he wasPresident of the Australian Q-Group 2002-2011. Dr Ashe obtainedhis PhD in Operations Research from the University of New SouthWales. He majored in Pure and Applied Mathematics, Statistics,and Actuarial Science, with First Class Honours in Mathematics,from Macquarie University.

Ming Yi is a manager from Ernst & Young based in Singapore. Sheis an associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society with generalinsurance experience in Asia. Her experience includes insuranceliability valuation, due diligence support, enterprise riskmanagement and appraisal valuation.

Mehulhas extensive experience with loss reserving for a variety ofinsurance classes. Sheng Chieh is a Consultant with NMG’s Actuarial ConsultingSolutions and has been involved in various statutory and advisoryprojects including stress testing, valuation of insurance liabilitiesand pricing since joining NMG. Prior to NMG, Sheng Chieh was theManager of the Enterprise Risk Management & ActuarialDepartment for a large General Insurance company in Malaysia,where she worked extensively on ICAAP and stress-testing. ShengChieh is an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries Australia and aChartered Enterprise Risk Actuary.

Petr has worked with Aon Benfield’s Impact Forecasting (IF) teamsince February 2010. He heads the IF flood model developmentteam in the EMEA and APAC regions. Prior to joining Aon Benfield,Petr was a research assistant at the Department of Hydraulic andHydrology of the Czech Technical University.Petr is an active member of the International Association ofHeadwater Control. He is also a member of the Czech delegation ofFAO committee for Mountain Watershed Management.Petr earned a PhD in hydrology and open-channel hydraulics inFebruary 2011 from the Czech Technical University, where hepreviously gained his Master of Science degree and where hecontinues to be a member of the Scientific Committee.In February 2016 Petr was relocated from Prague to Singapore tosupport IF’s flood modelling initiatives in APAC.

Bachu Radha Krishna Murthy joined Aon Benfield Bangalore inJune, 2012. Prior to this, he was working for catastrophic modelingfirm RMSI Private limited based in India. He has also worked as asst.professor, Department of Civil Engineering, KSRM College ofEngineering, Andhra Pradesh, India.He was involved in the successful completion of more than 15World Bank, UNDP, and ADB projects in developing flood riskmodels for various countries including India, Philippines, Lao PDR,UK, Romania, Belgium, Malawi, Mozambique and Morocco.Currently, Dr Bachu works closely with the Impact Forecasting APACteam to develop flood models for various APAC countries that willbe hosted on ELEMENTS.
