Bible Classes This Next Quarter
Sunset will begin a new quarter on the first Sunday in
September. In the Auditorium, the textual studies are
continuing. In the Multi-Purpose Room we will begin a
new study that is designed to follow the series we conclud-
ed last Spring on The Story. This study is called Believe.
It is designed to help us first define what we believe. What
you believe drives everything. The way you behave, the
habits you form, the character that defines you at your
core--- all are driven by what you believe. We will explore
our key beliefs that when embraced in the mind and heart
will create true change in our lives and in our church, and
hopefully in the world. This study will be taught in our
teen classes and in the children's program. This should
help us all to be transformed into the image of Christ to-
gether. May God bless us as we get closer to Him in His
Word and in our walk! See you in Sunday School!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 12th for Singing In The Clouds. Join us for a fun time of singing and fellowship. More details
will be coming soon.
Tuesday, August 18th, the PRIME-TIMERS will be having a "Fish Fry" at the Leo Sweet Community Center at 6:00 p.m. The fish will be provided. You will need to bring a vegetable, salad, dessert or rolls/cornbread. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer for you to list what you will be bringing. Bill and Shirley Crabb and John and Kay Tigert will be our hosts. We will also have two special speakers. Allen Sanchez, Chief of Detectives for the Carlsbad Police Department, will be speaking to us regarding the recent break-ins and giving information re-garding safety. Jeff Veilleux, Lieutenant with the Carls-bad Fire Department, will be speaking to us regarding what information we need to have available and ready to provide the ambulance or fire department in an emergen-cy. These two speakers will be giving us very valuable infor-mation we all need to hear, so plan now to attend this even-ing of fellowship, food, fun and important information.
FrontLiners: On Saturday, August
29th we will be caravanning to Rat-
tlesnake Springs for a picnic. We will
meet at the church parking lot at 3:00
pm and then leave from there. Bring a dish to
share, chairs or blankets, friends, and anything else
you might need. If you have questions, please call
Eva Cruz at 575-689-5046.
If you are participating in Christ-mas Boxes for the Philippines Children at the Arapel Camp make sure all items fit in a shoe box sized box and purchase $15 to $20 worth of gifts and wrap the gift, mark it for the age and
sex of the child and bring it to the church building. Peggy has put together a bulletin board and we will gather the gift boxes there to send out the first week in September. All boxes are due no later than Monday, August 31st. Thanks in advance for all you do!!!!
Don’t forget our potluck on Sun-
day, August 30 when we will hon-
or our teachers and celebrate our

September is the Start of a
New Quarter!
September is right around the corner, and plans for new classes are well un-der way. I am planning to add a few new classes this quarter to make our
age groups smaller again. The problem has been that we don’t have kids attending in all of the age groups. So, please show our teachers how much we appreciate them by bringing your kids and inviting others to bring theirs so we can enjoy the lessons these hard-working teachers prepare.
Kids classes will be as follows:
Sunday morning Bible Classes
Birth-18 months – green door tunnel
18-24 months – purple door
2-5 years – Sherry Tidwell, blue door
Kinder/1st/2nd – Turquoise door tunnel
3rd-5th – Purple door tunnel
Wednesday night Bible Classes
0-24 months – green door tunnel
Preschool – orange door tunnel
K-2nd – turquoise door tunnel
3rd-5th – purple door tunnel
If you are interested in teaching, please let me know. We will find a place that God leads you to! Also, if you have never taught before and are a little nervous to try, please contact me so we can pair up and help you get started!
New classes begin on Wednesday night,
September 2.
I’m excited to see all that God has planned for our little ones!
