Introduction The mission of the BioChemTech Sector Group is to provide a niche service to one of Europe's most important sectors: Biotechnology and Chemistry. This includes a comprehensive and high quality European knowledge transfer, information and business support service for organisations, particularly SMEs, with a view to increasing their competitiveness and promoting their overall economic growth.

The aims of the BioChemTech Sector Group include:

• Servicing the overlapping areas of Biotechnology and Chemistry. This includes: Pharma; Healthcare and Medical (red bio); Industrial Biotechnology (white bio); Fine Chemicals, Cosmetics, Agriculture (green bio); Agrofood, Environment and the Bio-Based economy

• Creation and utilisation of a cohesive forum for the rapid exchange of information for Network partners with a shared interest

• Development of a trusted and high-value sub-brand (Sector Group) of EEN • Build upon regional and EU services and tools as well as EU funded initiatives, encouraging

membership to the Sector Group, in order to stimulate business and technology cooperation in the sector

• Foster collaborations within the Value Chain and between Clusters with leading industrial players, research institutes, investors and stakeholders in the sector for the benefit of the Sector Group client base
