Introduction

There are various types of energy sources

available in nature like coal, gas, diesel which

are the non renewable resources and these

resources are available in a limited quantity. Bythe continuous utilization of these resources it

may leads to the energy crises.

Electrical energy is produced form energy

available in various forms in nature i.e. mainly by

using renewable resources like water, sun, wind

and by the usage of waste products

The production of the electrical power by the

usage of waste products is knows as BIOMASS

POWER GENERATION. The steam is used to generate the electricity,

which can be used by the clients other facilities

and /or sold to the power grid.

tube boiler. It is a reservoir of water / steam at the

top end of the water tubs. The drum stores the

steam generated in the water tubs and acts asphase separator for the steam / water mixture.

Advantages

The cost of the fuel used is quite cheap.

Less initial cost as compared to the othergenerating stations.

It can be installed at any place irrespective of theexistence of source. The source can betransported to the site of the plant by road.

It requires less space as compared to the hydro

electric power station.

Disadvantages

The BIOMASS POWER STATION has

also some limitations which are very less

when compared to the other stations. It

pollutes the atmospheric due to the

production of large amount of smoke and

fumes. Its costlier in running compared to

the hydro electric plant.
