based curriculum in home science. • Member of the core committee for Adolescents’ Education Programme under MHRD-

B. INITIATIVES AT THE DEPARTMENT DURING HEADSHIP

Collaborations

• Introduced internship in media production for P. G.students by developing collaborations with

local and state level media organizations. • Collaborated with Educational Media Research Centre,UGC-CEE, Ahmedabad in Organizing

training in educational video production for P.G.students. • Developed collaboration with Birla Cellulosic ,Deepak Charitable Trust, and IPCL in

conducting rural extension programme of the department. • Collaborated with local city based NGOs to expand non-formal education programme. • Invited to collaborate with EMRC,UGC-CEC,Ahmedabad in production of educational

programmes for national telecast on ‘VYAS’-higher education channel.(Directed production of our programmes)

• Initiated campus interviews in the department every year by development agencies such as CEE, World Vision, OCT,Aga Khan Foundation,Ratan Tata Trust, etc.

FundRaising

• Directed and supervised mass level Garba programme to raise funds for developing Media

Lab.in the department. • Led and directed fund raising campaigns for establishing Media Laboratory and instituting a

lecture series for the department through Alumni Association and as it's President. • Motivated donors to donate inkind for medialab.As a result, computers were received for

media lab. • Acquired through donations 15 computers ,CD player ,OHP ,TV ,projection screen, fans,

furniture etc. for media laboratory under alumni association. • Member of the committees setup by Home Science Extension and Communication.

Alumni Association for organizing various programmes and fundraising activities for the benefit of the department ,such as ,settingup a Reading cum Documentation Centre, donating water cooler to the department ,organizing seminars ,symposium and workshops,constructing non-formal education centre,establishing medial aboratory and raising funds for the activities. Social / Community Development Experience ( Extension Work)

As head of the department of Extension and Communication for six years directly and indirectly involved in all the development projects, their evaluation and documentation at B.Sc., M.Sc. and P.G. Diploma levels as well as developing collaborations with industries for development programmes.

• Contributed extensively to curriculum development, starting P.G. Diploma in Development Management, Collaborations, establishing media lab, fund raising through Alumni Association, development of research, organisation of professional programmes and infrastructure development

• Served in the capacity of teacher, in-charge, consultant of Adult and Non- formal education program of the Department 0f Home science Extension and communication since 1979, as well as at S.M Patel college of Home Science VallabhVidyanagar, from 1977 to 1979.

• In-charge of ‘PRAGATI’ Non-Formal education centre, from 1983 – 1997 and an advisor then after.

• Guided and supervised designing and developing of communication strategies media production and IEC Material for adult and Non Formal education programs of the department, which included:-

- Graphic, displays, exhibitions and three dimensional aids, Projected aids,

- Folk media, Print media, Electronic media.

• Collaborated with government, NGOs, Corporate sector and private sector in organizing and conducting Adult education program which covered Approximately 200 learners per year.

• Guided, supervised and evaluated Adult education and Non formal education programs of the department.

• Organized more than 30 exhibitions and displays, several talks, dramas and plays for the adult learners’ empowerment in communities as well as adult learners in the Non formal education centre of the department.

• Organized functional literacy and post literacy programs in collaboration with Adult and Continuing education centre, 1986-87.

• Organized ‘Each one Teach one’ program under literacy campaign program of the department 1984-85.

• Guided several community surveys for planning adult education program and evaluation surveys at the end of these programs in all the community out reach program in adult.

• Delivered several radio and live talks and conducted discussions on women’s issues with community groups of women.

• Directed training programs for adult educators of urban basic service program of Vadodara Municipal Corporation, 1993-1996.
