As BD got us under way, it was much of the same for the second half, the boys were playing with real style which you could see they was enjoying with smiles all over the pitch with 5 minutes to go. Yet, aſter a good clearance from East Barnet, their striker was released with no defender in sight, as he bore down on goal, goalkeeper Michi tried his hardest but could only watch as the ball was struck past him, 1-1. Makel, showing his captain credenals, demanded that the boys kept their heads up and should try to push for the winner. And so, with 2 chances squandered and a minute to go BD were awarded a corner. As marcel whipped it in, Derek, leaping like a salmon swimming up stream, connected with an almighty header to secure the three points for BD. the year 8s were buoyant. Aſter a fantasc start to the football calendar the boys now go into a well deserved winter break before they kick off again next year. they have worked incredibly hard and their conduct, atude and spirit is always a joy to see along with their passion for the sport.

This week, as a school community we celebrated the Feast of All Saints Day 1st November 2017. With Fr. Kevin, we remembered the importance of the Saints and their continual role within our Community. We took time to ask our House Saints, Edmund Campion, John Fisher, Ann Line, Thomas More, Nicolas Owen and Margaret Ward to intercede our personal prayers. Barnet Parent/Carer Drop-In Sessions

The Specialist Inclusion Services and Educational

Psychology Team are facilitating ‘Parent/Carer Drop-

In’ sessions along with the pre-school teaching and

NHS SALT teams. These sessions are free sessions,

although they must be booked in advance (based on

a ‘first come – first allocated’ approach). They are

available for parents/carers of Barnet children and

young people (0-25), to share any concerns or issues

on a 1:1 basis with a relevant professional. It is a

stand-alone session, so this means that there is no

follow-up. The aim of this session is to provide

Barnet parents/carers with an opportunity to discuss

concerns, and collectively think through how to

move forward with the situation.

To access the sessions, parents/carers must book a place, utilising the contact details in the flyer enclosed with this newsletter and return to [email protected]
