Weather The wind on the water is 17kt near the land and 36kt in the PELAGIC zone. But every day it does change, it normally changes to 13kt near the land and 32kt in the pelagic zone again. At night it goes down 10kt so that means every night it is 7kt at land and 22kt in the pelagic zone

The land dwellers appeared 400 million years ago.The first proper fish ever alive is called a Coelacanth and scientists don’t know, if it is still alive. It is described as the third biggest fish, bigger then a Tuna, smaller then a shark.The kelp and phytoplankton makes about 50% of our oxygen in the whole world.

The marine is divided into four separate zones. The first quarter is called the PELAGIC zone also known as the open ocean. The second quarter is called the BENTHIC zone known as the deepest part of the ocean. The third quarter is called the ABYSSAL zone known as the oxygen area it is full of plants so it gives oxygen to the whole ocean. The fourth is the INTERTIDAL zone it is a layer where the land meets the ocean.

There are over hundreds of species of animals through out the whole ocean, and there are hundreds of plant as well.

Plants in the Marine

One plant type thing is a giant Russell clam it holds this type of blue plant in side that produces a Perl. Another type of plant is algae its needs are coral and light it need them two things to survive algae can be eaten by large fish such as tuna, shark and whales. Little fish can also nibble on the algae as well.

• The oldest coral in the great barrier reef would be a parities it is the size of a small room and it is about 1,000 years old. It grows 1 cm a year so it is about ten meters high .

Clown fish have very special scales on them which makes it not get eaten by the sea anemone. The Clown fishes name comes from the way it jumps like a clown in the anemone, so it has a home like a jumping castle.

Puffer fish are widely known for its ability to tern itself into a ball.it can ingest huge amounts of water to blow up its body.Their belly is elastic so they can fill their belly and get bigger, with the air or water they ingest. They Puffer fish contains a toxic substance called antidote, that makes them tastes like foul to other fish.

• The leafy sea dragon has clear leaves that can make the sea dragon blend.

• The length of a Leafy sea dragons approximately 35 cm.

• When they are in deep water they are dark brown and with burgundy red.

• When they are in shallow water they are yellow or greenish.
