Library InformationHybrid Library Services - students will use the BHS Library catalog to search and request hard copy books. Once a book title is located students will email the library at [email protected] to let us know what book is requested. Through email communication delivery options will be estab-lished. eBooks are available now in a variety of ways to access. Student service techs will follow health and safety protocols to deliver the book to the student. See the links below for ways to access resources.

Returning Your Library Books from Last School YearSoon the BHS Library will automatically send you an email to your Google school email address letting you know what books are still checked out to you. Please look for the books and plan to return them when you are on campus. All books from BHS Library are posted to your student account in PowerSchool. Once you return the book(s) you will receive an email from the library that fees for the cost of the book have been removed from PowerSchool. Books from Mesa Alta Library will be returned to Mr. Eoff. Bring all books from either BHS or Mesa Alta to the high school library and place in the book drop outside the library doors. Since you are now a high school student your books from Mesa Alta will be returned for you as a courtesy of library services.

The NMPED has presented an opportunity available for 12th graders to take the SAT and 11th graders to take the PSAT/NMSQT on October 14, 2020 at BHS. This is optional test, as the NMPED is not requiring the exam for gradua-tion requirements for the 2021 cohort. There are benefits, however. Seniors: As you may know, most colleges and universities have made admission "test optional" for 2021 grads. This means students can be admitted to an institution without having an ACT or SAT score as part of their application. Some scholarships and elite programs, however, may request a test score for the student to be considered for the award. Therefore, taking the SAT at BHS on Oct. 14 could benefit your student.Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT is the only test that provides students with the opportunity to earn the title of "National Merit Scholar." This prestigious title brings national recognition and scholarships at most all colleges and universities, nationwide. In addition, it is good practice for when 11th graders will take the SAT in the spring of 2021, which will count towards graduation requirements. BHS has 30 spots available. Please have your student complete the interest survey at the links below to reserve a spot (PRIOR TO SEPT 4). Once the form is complete, the student will get more information as we get closer to the testing date.

He plans to go to college and play college baseball. He says this year
is pretty crazy but overall he is still excited about senior year. His hob-bies are hanging with family and dancing also playing sports. His greatest achievements are main-taining straight A’s while playing three varsity sports.His extra cur-ricular activities would be dancing and sports. His most memorable moment would be even though
he lost getting to play in two state games. His advice for the freshman is to work hard for everything and
it will pay off.
Raymundo Alcantar Mylie KennedyHer plans for after graduation are to go to college somewhere for something but she doesn’t know yet. She says this school year has been kind of sad but
the teachers and staff are doing a great job of running things
smoothly. Her hobbies are cheer spending time with family/
friends, her greatest achieve-ments would be maintaining
good grades all throughout high school, she is in NHS, her most memorable thing that happened at BHS would probably be when the football team made it to state
twice, her advice for the fresh-man is to enjoy high school as
much as they can because it goes by so fast.

Meet The New Staff - Mr. TensayMr. Ben Tensay is new to our school this year. He is the district director of Athletics. He has been in Athletics for 21 years and grew up in Las Cruces, NM where he attended Mesilla Valley Christian Schools.
When asked what the hardest part of being an educator was for him, Mr Tensay replied, “I would say that as a coach/teacher, when you are having to see your players going thru hard times outside of school, it bothers you, because for some of those players, this is all they have and positive reinforcement is vital for their success during their highschool careers and beyond. Athletics plays a huge role in players’ academic careers as well”.
Having school on line has not been any different for him. Most of his meetings with the NMAA and the National AD Asso-ciation were already happening online. Also his reports to the school board are online. “ONLINE is pretty much the way we communicate these days” he said.
When he first started college his plans were to play college Basketball and become a coach for Basketball on the college level. He had the opportunity to try out for NM State University Men’s Basketball, but his knee gave in so that didn’t work out. But he didn’t give up. He was asked to coach HS basketball and HS sports as a whole. He felt that working with high school students would give him the opportunity to make a huge impact just like coaches had made in his life.
The best advice he received on being an educator came from the late Jim Valvano, a for-mer Men’s Basketball coach for North Carolina State University. When he was given an award he said, “There are three important things in life: you must laugh everyday, you must think everyday and spend some time in thought and you must be passionate and show emotion”, then he said “NEVER GIVE UP, DON”T EVER GIVE UP”. He said this in front of thousands of people during a time when he was battling cancer.

The Magnificent KotobukiAn aerial warfare series about a team of six women who are fighter pilots. It is also receiving a movie on September 11. But since this is a lesser know anime, you can find all 12 episodes of the series on Crunchy Roll.
The Misfit of Demon King AcademyThought this adventure fantasy series has already came out on September 5, it’s still new enough for you to watch. It’s all about a reincarnated demon king regaining his throne. There are many brutal action scenes there for your enjoyment.
Love Me, Love Me NotA romantic film coming out on September 18. Two girls meet at a train station only to learn that they live in the same apartment building. This causes them to express their different experiences of love and create a friendship between the two.
Sadly that’s all that seems to be going on this September for anime. But never fear!! October got’s us cover with several new seasons and movies. Including the next season of the ultimate volleyball anime, Haikyu!! Also the release of the My hero Academia movie Heroes Rising which you can buy and watch in the com-fort of your home.
