missvu Miss Vu is the editor and designer for the summer 2012 issue of Boundless. She lives in San Francisco, CA and is a designer by day and a foodie, retail-therapist and crafter by night. TAMARAKIMCHO Tamara Cho was born and raised in Northern California. With a background in Graphic Design, she is pursuing her creative career at Philippe Becker Design agency and after hours through freelance work. When not posted behind the computer, Tamara explores life through food, shopping and social adventures. She also loves to dabble in painting, photography, developing various hand made creations and most of all spending time with her better half.

sylviatewes Sylvia Tewes was born in Tokyo and raised in Hawaii, and she now calls San Francisco home. She graduated from University of Oregon with a BA in Visual Design and minor in Architecture and Art History. She prefers the ocean to forest, savory over sweet and neutral colors to bright. She’s a Japanese speaker, layout and design fanatic, architecture enthusiast, furniture sketcher and a hula dancer.

WELCOME TO OUR FIRST ISSUE! Over several cocktails we decided to put together a magazine that documents whatever inspires us (which is everything). In our issues, we share our obsessions and love for design, craft projects, traveling, food, shopping and the simple joys of hanging out with friends. There are no themes, no rules, no limits … it’s boundless.

Mary Had

a Little LambThat was cooked to perfection...

1. Purchase 3 lamb T-bones from your local grocery store.

For the lamb-eating lover in you, here’s a recipe that is oh-so-good and only takes about 40 minutes to make from start to finish!

2. Season with onion powder, seasoned salt, a LOT of garlic powder and a LOT of ground pepper. *note: the garlic powder and ground pepper are the key to this recipe.

3. Season with ingredients.

4. Oil pan with your choice of oil. My favorite, olive oil

in a Misto sprayer. The misto takes

the oil and sprays it out as a nice

even mist.

5. Place on low-medium heat for 10 minutes with lid on, then flip to the other side and let it sit for another 10 minutes with lid on. Or cook to desired texture.

6. Boil some veggies.

I use frozen veggies since it’s

quick and easy.

Done! A nice meal for one! Enjoy!

Let them eat cake!

from a jar

Make up a batch to keep on hand for sudden cravings, give as favors for your next party, or send to loved ones overseas. The cakes will remain moist and delicious for up to 6 months! What better way to show someone you care than a personalized cake in a jar!

Find your favorite cake mix and supporting ingredients, or make it from scratch. (To speed things along, I used a boxed cake mix. But I will definitely go from scratch next time.) The best part about making your own is that you can make half of one kind and half of another!

You'll also need a bunch of canning jars - straight sides, wide mouthed. I got the wee-est ones I could find for cuteness' sake. You can definitely make them in big-ger jars.

Boil or wash the jars to sterilize them. You'll want brand-spanking-new lids to make a tight seal when you're done.

Make the batter according to the direc-tions on the box. Fill the jars about half-way with batter. If you fill them too full, you can always squish them down, or cut the tops off. But too much batter will result in them flowing over the sides of the jars.

Bake according to directions for cupcakes, and check for doneness. These are about cupcake size, but your jars may be larger and need more time.

When they’re done, close the lids on ‘em. They’re self-sealing, and you’ll be able to see the seal forming! Make sure to screw those caps on while the cakes are still hot though, to get that all-important seal.

Once you’ve sealed these little treats, lable and date them. Then you’re ready to serve, ship, or store. No need to pop them out, they’re easy to eat right out of the jar!

Enjoy!

instructions:

These tiny delights make the perfect gifts for any occasion.
