Nicki is a female rap artist, her brand image is very sexual, as she is known for her large cleavage and oversized bottom.

She is a very alternative rapper, as we mostly expect rap artist to be male, but she is pushing the boundaries and her audience expect nothing less.

Her brand image is very creative as she seems to have a range of different appearances and this is what makes us want to watch her more, in some of her video’s we see her as a fierce independent woman, but in others we see her as I saucy playful woman.

She uses a lot of wigs in her videos this is to show creativity as a singer, the wig always matches the image she tries to create in her currant music video

• In this screen shot it is clear that she is fierce and in control. She shows this through her strong attitude and facial expressions.

• She has still incorporated her feminine image by having the majority of the video using pink items.

• Her brand image is made clear through her costume as it is very revealing and doesn’t hide her big bust or bottom. She still wants to look sexy.• The other characters in this music video look very lost and scared and this helps to incorporate the idea of her being a strong in control woman.

• In this music video, Nicki is shown as the ‘Barbie’ type of girl, as she is featuring in this song and all the other rappers are male.• In this she acts very girly and

pretty in pink, but she still acts sexy and glamorous.

• In the group shot, she is dressed more dominantly as she is blending in with the other artist’s, also she is still showing her biggest assets, but wearing and luminous pink bra.

This music video has been done for her fans, it is made up of her singing this song, live and on what looks to be a photo shoot.• She is in black and pink again

this is to show her feminine side even though her part in the music industry is male dominant.

• The actions she does in the screen grabs are quite gangster like and this is to show the typical image associated with rappers.

• This is unusual that it isn’t clear that she is wearing a wig, and her outfit is very casual.

This album cover is very feminine due to the colours used. This shows that the artist maybe a rapper, but is still wanting to

make it clear that she is still a successful female rapper.

She has still managed to show off her trade marks, e.g. her big bottom and cleavage and her tiny waist.

The entire cover is in different shades of pink, this makes the artist stand out even more.

The writing of the title of the album is very feminine as well, with a butterfly under it.

She has been made to look like she is a doll in a box, this is very interesting as we are able to see that she isknown as Barbie (an icon for girls) this perhaps is what she is trying to do.

This album cover is made to represent the ideal dream of Barbie with a modern twist. Barbie’s dream world consist of flashy cars and dream houses which are present in this album cover. The title shows off that nicki isnt the typical girl, and by using a swear word she tries to shock, this is also helps by it being in a different colour

Her facial expressions look as if she is trying to make a statement showing that she isn’t a sit down type of girl.Flowers have been used to link back to the title Barbie as we expect Barbie to be an innocent girly character that all young girls want to be

This album cover has been used to create the brand image of the artist, this highlights her feminity, but by using a swear word show’s she is quite gangster like (this is what her genre of music is associated with).

The dress/ top she is wearing is very detailed and full of gem, this has been done to show off her glamorous side and yet again it is pink, for femininity. This outfit has really highlighted her cleavage area which is one of her brand image marks.

She has used a wig in this album cover, this is to keep the theme of pink heavy in the album cover.

The colour pink has been used in order to relate to the title “Pink FRIDAY”. The word pink has a different font and darker shade of pink, in order to stand out.

Her facial expressions are quite doll like. And her eyes are big and bold.

A medium shot has been used to create a more personal approach to the audience.

Her brand image is a sexy, curvy, strong, fierce, independent woman.

Her outfits are usually revealing towards the chest area and she loves to show off her strong thigh's and extremely noticeable curves

Her brand image has change quite a bit as she has developed her brand image in a lot more depth

For her past few video’s she has made her make up more dramatic to make her character seem more fierce and in control

In her past singing she was known from destiny's child, as a sexy, young woman. But she wasn’t known for such things as her fierce controlled side.

• In this music video 3 definite different images are formed of which we are shown relate to the artist.

• In the 1st screen shot, the idea of Beyoncé being the dominant artist is shown, this is shown by her outfit standing out from other characters in order for the audience to focus on her. she is shown as strong and in control in this screen shot

• In the 2nd screen shot, we are shown a fierce and strong, this is shown by the anger of the animals and her fierce reaction showing she is the one who runs the show.

• In the last screen shot, the key image of the artist being sexy and seductive is present this is done, to show that she gets what she wants.

• This music video shows off the glamour image that we associate with the artist. This is shown in all of these screen shots.

• In screen shot 1- a contrast in colours have been used, whilst Beyoncé is in a dirty dark place she is dressed in a brightly glamorous revealing outfit, this has been done to relate to the lyrics and to come across as sexy.

• In screen shot 2 – Beyoncé looks very glamorous and successful, which is what her brand image is all about. This has been done by the official fitted white suit, glamour sunglasses and heels.

• In screen shot 3 – Beyoncé is shown as expensive and is only for the best which relates well to what she says in the song. This is shown by the shiny gold (which is everything in the shot)

The main theme in this album cover is glamour and sexiness of the artist. This has been done through the revealing outfit which is made completely out of gems.

Her pose has been done to exenterate her curves as this is a main focus of this artist’s brand image.

A lot of skin is shown in this album cover to get the audience to buy it. A wind blown image has been chosen as it

makes the artist look, wind swept and fresh, whilst still looking very glamorous.

Page 13: Branding & the music industry for blog

A black, whist and grey scheme has been used in this album cover to make the artist stand out.Her pose is very strong and independent, along with her serious facial expressions she looks very dominant.

The writing is in capitals but very thin, not just to make the audience aware of the title, but to blend in well with the scheme of the cover. In this album cover minimum skin is visible, this is to make the artist look very dominant and defiant.

A long shot has been used for this album cover and this is very unusual as it doesn’t look as direct as a close up shot would do, but it has been used to show off her stance and it makes her look invincible.

Page 14: Branding & the music industry for blog

The artist’s make up is very heavy and extreme, this makes her look very fierce and almost like she is in charge.

The theme of glamour is shown in this album cover, through the artist extreme gold outfit, glove and earrings.

The artist’s hair is in an updo, this has been done to add to the idea of her being in control, it also emphasises her make up as there is nothing getting in the way.

The pose that the artist is doing, implies the brand image of her being not only fierce but also sexy.

A black back ground has been used in order to make the artist stand out, due to the contrast.
