From the Principal

Dear School Community, Week Four already!!! The term is progressing very quickly and we still have so much to complete before the end of the year. Thank you to everyone that attended the “Stay and Play” on Friday afternoon. What we have begun to create is already developing much excitement and enthusiasm among the students. I have been amazed at the creativity they have already demonstrated in just a few days. Thank you to the ladies on the Nature Play Committee for your efforts in organising the event and the equipment, the kids love it! Thank you to the P&C for donating the sausages that refuelled everyone after their efforts. We will continue to add and develop the space as the students come up with more ideas. Watch this space! The “River to Bay” meeting was a great success with all the parents in attendance being very positive about the information presented. Mr Mark Bruce, the Principal of Ongerup Primary School, explained the benefits that have resulted from forming the Warperup team with Borden and Pingrup Primary Schools. From this meeting it was evident that both schools support us combining factions with Gairdner Primary School at the River to Bay Carnival. We will survey parents soon as to how many factions, faction names and colours and if we should compete as River to Bay at the Fitzgerald Interschool Carnival. Thank you to all parents that attended not only for your support but for your positive input as well. Once again the Parent Information Evening was a great success with many parents attending to review the great progress we have made over the last 12 months. I thank everyone for their questions and insight. The discussions we had have provided me with details on how we can present more formative feedback to share our successes and how to further improve our students. If you have any concerns in regards to the data I presented or your child’s results from standardised testing, please arrange a meeting with me at your earliest convenience. I have recently sent parents a Satisfaction Survey to complete via email. This survey is in regard to our performance in 2018. I strongly encourage all parents to complete this survey by Friday, 16 November. The data collected will assist in our planning for 2019 and beyond. Thank you. Some of you may be aware that the Principal’s position at Bremer Bay Primary School was recently advertised. The appointment is to commence at the beginning of 2019. This is a normal and expected part of the Education Department’s process to fill a fixed term position. We will endeavour to keep the school community updated with any information we receive from the Department. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me in the office.

Jump Rope for Heart has kicked off @Bremer Bay PS!

Jump Rope for Heart is a fantastic physical activity and fundraising program that has been run by the Heart

Foundation for 35 years. It’s a great way for your child to keep fit and learn new skills, but it also helps

raise funds for vital heart research and education programs.

Since Jump Rope for Heart started in 1983, schools like ours have raised more than $75 million for the

Heart Foundation’s lifesaving work.

It’s important you register your child online, so they can receive the full benefits of the program and participate in online fund-

raising, simply follow the link below to get started.

Students will be skipping throughout the term in PE lessons, morning fitness

and during lunch breaks, during this time you can share their online fundraising

page with family and friends to help raise money for this great cause. Last year we
