NEWS from BRENTWOOD BITES, from Deb and TammieFood NewsIntroducing “Wednesday Fresh Meal Deals”.Wednesday’s at Brentwood Bites is radically changing! The Wednesday menu will now provide our young diners with a choice from two freshly prepared and cooked meal deals. The meals on offer will be changed fortnightly with the menus featuring a new international theme. These will be distributed with each school newsletter.

Meals for TERM 3 Weeks 1 and 2 will be MEXICAN! Please see the flyer enclosed.

The Friday menu will continue with our previous selections and the addition of two new burgers on a new look menu.We will continue to introduce fresh items to the recess menu in term 3. The feedback has been positive – it’s been

great to see the kids going for the new items and adventuring into tastes unknown, a trend we hope will make the changes to our Wednesday menu a winner. Volunteer NewsThankyou to Tracey Joubert, Sally Marshall, Nat Taylor, Pip Peake, Candi, Louise Runkle, Kath Polglase and Veronica Craig all of whom have helped in the canteen over the last two weeks.

As a result of the improvement to our operation on Wednesdays and ongoing volunteer recruitment issues, a letter will be sent out to all parents requesting selection of their preferred date/time for one shift within the remainder of the year. Assembly Pre-warmersOur coffee/tea/hot chocolate and muffins mornings have been a huge success and we hope to continue into term 3. Your support has been brilliant, and we hope you will continue to have a cuppa and muffin whilst enjoying the kids assemblies.

A warm thank you!! Thank you very much to all who donated their pre-loved pyjamas, warm items of clothing and other essentials over the past month. All of your donations have been sorted and made into packs ready and waiting for the women and their children who come and stay at the Lucy Saw Refuge in Rockingham. The CEO at Lucy Saw, Anne, has sent out a sincere thank you for all of your generous donations. Anne and the team at Lucy Saw were very moved by the care and thoughtfulness that was evident when going though your items. Calls for donations have been so well received that we have exceeded the number of items that can be used at one refuge and donations will now be divided among four additional refuges (Mount Pleasant, Fremantle, Mandurah and Joondalup).
