1.The discovery of Mundus Novus• The search for new commercial routes made by Spanish and Portuguese ships facilitated the first important geographical discoveries • The improvement of navigation and the attempts of finding new routes led to the discovery of the New World

•Until the 16th century Spain and Portugal had naval supremacy.

The perspective of gaining wealth rapidly attracted Spanish conquistadors towards the new continent.

The discoveries of Pizzaro and Cortez enriched the Spanish treasury and nobility

•Francisc the 1st sustained naval projects in order to replenish the depleting French treasury

•The first manifestations of French colonial policy: outposts with commercial purposes were built in the New World

8.ConclusionsIn order to conclude I must say that:

•Each colony became accustomed to planting new settlements and to claiming new boundaries •The discovery and colonizing of the New World was more easily facilitated by: supremacy on seas, cheap land and by having important technological advantages•People that made the colonies develop where mainly, the people that wanted to improve their social status and wanted to escape religious oppression•With constant support and by being seen as a gem by the Crown, working hard and finding solace in the promises of a better less restrictive life, the colonists have defeated their unfavorable odds•The colonies thrived under this conditions by having a crucial advantage: Self-Government•In a short period of 400 years the colonies turned into some of the most important cities of the world and the country itself into the strongest one on the Globe
