This document sets out the way you as a Collector can collect Nectar Points and Nectar

Rewards from us and the terms and conditions that apply between us and you.

Rules for Collectors1.3 The main rules that apply to Collectors

(Nectar Rules) are set by Nectar and you can see these at: nectar.com/dynamic/business/about-nectar/legal/collector-rules. The Nectar Rules contain important information about the collection and redemption of Nectar Points and Nectar Rewards and your participation in the Nectar Programme. They also cover the use of information that Nectar collects about you or relates to your participation in the Nectar Programme.

1.4 By collecting and/or redeeming Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards with us, you accept these terms and conditions. We may need to update them from time to time or change the way you can collect or redeem Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards with us. If we make any changes, we will post these to our website: britishgas.co.uk/Nectar. If the changes we’ve made are particularly important, we may also contact you by email or post.

If you continue to collect and/or redeem Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards with us after we’ve made changes, we’ll treat that as if you’ve accepted the changes.

2. Linking your accountGetting a Nectar Account2.1 To collect and spend Nectar Points from

us, you must have an account with Nectar (Nectar Account). You can set one up at nectar.com. Once you’ve done that, you’ll need to link your Nectar Account to your account(s) with us. Some rewards may be available without the need for a Nectar Account.

Linking your account2.2 You can link your Nectar Account to

your account(s) with us by filling in the registration form at: britishgas.co.uk/Nectar or by calling 0800 048 0202. If we develop new ways of linking your Nectar Account with us, we’ll tell you on britishgas.co.uk/Nectar, and may try to contact you about it.

2.3 You must give us all the information we ask for so we can link your Nectar Account to your account(s) with us. We won’t take responsibility for any incomplete or inaccurate information, and we may not give you Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards, or let you collect or spend Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards.

2.4 When your Nectar Account has been linked to your account(s) with us and you’ve agreed to these terms and conditions, you’ll be able to get information about how to collect Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards with us.

2.5 When you buy a product or service that qualifies for Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards and do not link your Nectar Account with us, we’ll store the Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards for up to three months from the date you bought it. For example if you don’t have a Nectar Account or you don’t know your Nectar Account details at the time of purchase,

2.5.1 If your Nectar Account is linked to your account(s) with us within those three months, we’ll automatically

credit any Nectar points or Nectar rewards you have earned to your Nectar Account.

2.5.2 But if your Nectar Account is not linked to your account(s) with us within those three months, you won’t be entitled to claim any Nectar points or Nectar rewards you have earned during that time.

3. Points and rewards eligibility3.1 To be entitled to collect or spend Nectar

Points or Nectar Rewards with us, you must be a British Gas customer and you must have at least one qualifying product with us. We’ve listed the qualifying products at britishgas.co.uk/Nectar (Qualifying Products). We may update the list of Qualifying Products from time to time. Customers of British Gas Business are not currently eligible to collect or redeem Nectar Points with us.

3.2 Even if you are a customer and have a Qualifying Product, you won’t be able to collect or spend Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards with us if:

3.2.1 you owe us money for that Qualifying Product and the amount has been outstanding for more than 42 days; or

3.2.2 you haven’t complied with the terms and conditions for that Qualifying Product.

3.3 There may be circumstances when we: 3.3.1 refuse to create a link between your

Nectar Account and your account(s) with us;

3.3.2 cancel a link that has already been created;

3.3.3 refuse to allocate Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards to you; or

3.3.4 stop you from spending Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards with us.

We won’t do any of these things without a good reason, for example if you haven’t complied with these terms and conditions or the Nectar Rules, or if Nectar have asked us to act in this way.

4. Collecting points and rewards4.1 We’ll give Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards

with Qualifying Products at the rates shown at britishgas.co.uk/Nectar. We may update the amount of Nectar Points or the Nectar Rewards allocated to Qualifying Products from time to time. Offer terms and conditions will be set out in the communications relating to it.

4.2 As well as giving Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards for Qualifying Products, we might offer promotions where Nectar Points or Rewards are awarded for additional products, services or activities, or increased e.g. double points. When these types of offers are available, details will on britishgas.co.uk/Nectar. They may be advertised. and we might contact you about it.

4.3 If you think there’s been a mistake in the number of Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards we’ve given you, you should tell us as soon as possible by calling 0800 048 0202. If a mistake has been made we’ll correct it. We’ll look into the issue fairly, but our decision will be final.

4.4 All Rewards are subject to availability. If any Nectar Reward becomes unavailable for any reason, we reserve the right to withdraw that Nectar Reward immediately.

5. Spending points5.1 You may be able to spend your Nectar

Points in exchange for various rewards from us (Nectar Rewards).

5.2 We may refuse a request to spend Nectar Points if we believe:

5.2.1 you’ve not complied with any of these terms and conditions or any terms and conditions of the Nectar Reward;

5.2.2 you haven’t complied with the Nectar Rules; or

5.2.3 there’s been an abuse or attempted abuse of the Nectar Programme.

We may also refuse a request to spend Nectar Points where Nectar asks us to.5.3 When you’ve spent Nectar Points they

cannot be used again. If you were spending points with us but cancel, reverse or don’t complete the transaction, we’ll credit the

points back to your Nectar Account.5.4 Nectar Points have no cash value and

no cash alternative will be given for any Nectar Rewards.

6. When we can suspend, cancel or close Nectar rewards

6.1 If you don’t want to link your Nectar Account with us anymore, you can stop it anytime. Just call 0800 048 0202, email [email protected] or write to tell us at British Gas, PO BOX 4805, Worthing, BN11 9QW.

Reasons for us suspending or cancelling6.2 We can suspend, cancel or stop the link

between your Nectar Account and us if: 6.2.1 you don’t following these terms, the

Nectar Rules or abuse the Nectar Programme;

6.2.2 you’re not eligible to collect and redeem Nectar Points and/or Nectar Rewards with us (see clauses 10 and 11);

6.2.3 you give us or Nectar false or misleading information;

6.2.4 you’re abusive, violent or offensive to any member of our staff; or

6.2.5 you don’t have an active Nectar Account.

We’ll tell you if we decide to do this.6.3 If we suspend the link between your Nectar

Account and your account(s) with us, you won’t be able to collect or redeem Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards.

6.4 We reserve the right to immediately suspend or cease to give Nectar Points or Nectar Rewards if:

6.4.1 it becomes unlawful for us to do so; 6.4.2 the Nectar Programme is suspended

or terminated; or 6.4.3 our right to issue Nectar Points or

supply Nectar Rewards is suspended or terminated for any reason if Nectar ceases to trade.

If this happens we’ll post a notice on britishgas.co.uk/Nectar as soon as possible.
