TERRESTRIAL TRANSMISSION
TERRESTRIAL TRANSMISSION is the transmission being made parallel to the ground
It’s frequency range is 40-70 MHz
One transmitting station could transmit the signal for only 100 Kmdiameter of clients
(Tx station)
SATELLITE TRANSMISSION
Satellite transmission involves an intermediate machine what we called as satellite.
It’s sole duty is receiving and transmitting.
The most popular orbit is the Geostationary orbit for the communication satellite .
Which is present at 35786 Km from the earth surface.
Only three satellites are used to cover the earth.
SATELLITE INFORMATION :-
IMPORTANT FEATURES
Very large area of earth is visible from satellite (about 42%) Satellite offers communication with remote communities in sparsely
populated area
Satellite communication ignores political boundaries as well as geographical boundaries
Satellite provides communications with moving aircraft from ground control stations across the country
Satellite provides remote sensing i.e. Weather condition , oil field, water pollution etc.
