DESCRIPTION

Globalization is increasing rapidly, driven by technological advances and demographic changes, and as a result, the flow of goods and capital has become easier. The demand for human resources has increased as well, and the challenges of developing, managing, and hiring talents have become key issues in this era of globalization. In response, the Global Human Resources Forum 2015 intends to create spaces where leaders from businesses, governments, civil societies, NGOs, and academia around the world come together to share their visions and actions through open and insightful discussions, specifically focusing on how to develop and manage human capital in order to create a sustainable and enduring global prosperity. The forum will take place at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas located in Samseong-dong of Gangnam District in Seoul from November 3 to November 5, 2015. Under the theme of “Diverse Talent, Changing Societies,” this year’s Global HR Forum seeks to explore the ways in which “diverse talents” can be cultivated: individuals who are able to approach certain phenomena or matters with broad perspectives and critical attitudes based on their original thinking and creativity. In doing so, the forum also hopes to reform the authoritative corporate culture, the standardized value system, and the outdated education system, which trains young individuals to be merely excellent exam-takers. On the whole, the forum will feature discussions on key issues including human resource management, human resource development, education reform, and the use of digital technology in education. The Global HR Forum was first established in 2006 under the slogan of “Global Talent, Global Prosperity,” organized by the Korea Economic Daily in partnership with the Korean Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training. Holding annual meetings since then, the Global HR Forum has established itself as a unique global event whose ambition is to contribute to the growth of human capital. Over 2,500 people attended the inaugural forum in 2006, which invited 50 speakers from 14 different countries, and last year’s forum saw more than 120 speakers from 60 different countries with over 5,000 people in attendance.
