FROM THE PASTOR,

Peace and all good! As you all know, a few weeks ago 61 youth stood up to say "yes" to their faith in the Sacrament of Confirma on. I'd like to thank that very special group of adults, sponsors and catechists for all they've done for our confirm-andi. No one can thank you enough for your efforts, me talent and love, week a er week in the midst of your own busy life and commitments. Your presence is a witness to how important it is to take the me to pass our Catholic faith on to our young people. I'd also like to thank our young people for their perseverance. For "s cking it out" when during the mes when you were too red or burdened with obliga ons at school and sports, but you came to class anyway. When peers pressured you to come do something "more fun," you hung in there. For all this, I thank you. You are the future of our Church, and it's a bright future based on those I've met who are involved in the Youth Ministry here at MSLRP. I'd also like to say thank you to our MOP (Maintain Our Parish) ministry and the Knights of Columbus and Boy Scouts for a very successful rummage sale and recycling event. Around $3,600.00 was raised for the technology ini a ve for our Parish School. Parishioner dona ons of treasures for that sale were much needed and appreciated. Without our volunteers and ministers, nothing would get done around here. By the me you read this, 18 eighth graders from our Parish School, Old Mission Montessori, will have taken their final walk through the school corridors and into a bright future. Congratula ons to them and to their families and teachers. I'm very proud of the educa on we offer at our school. I am fully aware of the commitment and extraordinary sacrifices parents make to send their children to Catholic School. But what I admire most about OMMS is the loving, loyal environment where the en re community of parents, teachers, students and parish are commi ed to our student’s academic and personal suc-cess. If you haven't had a chance to check out our school, now is the me! Call our Principal, Wanda King, for a tour. Enroll-ment is open for the fall. I'd like to thank you in advance for your support of OMMS by stopping by at the Christmas in July carnival and cra show, July 12 and 13th. The weekend of July 5 and 6, Fr. Mar n Ibarra, OFM, will be stopping by to preach for support of Guaymas as our mission-ary this year. He's working on a dining room for the poor in Mexico called "Casa Franciscana." You'll probably recognize Fr. Mar n. He was here at the parish as a deacon three or four years ago. And of course, the work on the parking lot behind Serra Center con nues. We're hoping construc on will start this sum-mer, permits permi ng. Thank you for your pa ence. And for all you do and give, I want to say thanks to our parish fami-ly. Together we can do great things with the Lord's blessings. As a final note, I would like to extend Father’s Day blessings to all fathers as well as those who have fathered others in their role as mentors and guides. Fr. David Gaa, OFM Pastor

DE NUESTRO PÁRROCO

¡Paz y bien!

Amén (from fathersdaycelebra ons.com)
